A quick and simple one :

 

The Buttons behind the ashtray for electric mirrors, Suspension Setting (US model ) etc. Are they normally illuminated when the dash lights are on ?

Mirror switch is not illuminated but there are a few guys on here that will modify it and hence it will then light up....works quite well actually.

Ah, right...I guess I will have to modify them to light up :o)

You need to drill out the insides of the switch, just the plastic parts and make what will resemble caves !!!!

You then put a small led strip either side to shine light into these new holes or cavities.

It will then probably be a bit big to go back in the center console so you'll need to shave off a few mm.

But to be quite honest with you, i,m not exactly sure what I.m looking at on the photo...is that the underside of the Switch "box" , with the modification being

the small rectangular cut out in the Center ?

You're looking at the holes on the one on the left, even more as been opened up on the one on the right, whichever you choose will allow light to shine through and give the buttons some illumination, then you put a 3 smd strip light along that full edge, one each side and try your best to countersink it down.
