One of my Headlamp bulbs has stopped working and from what i can find out it is a H3C, (not a H3). Now from all my investigations, it looks like these bulbs are mainly used as fog light bulbs. Are these the right bulbs for the dipped beam on the headlamp?

H3 bulbs for the fogs are the ones that come with the short cable to a male spade.

 

You will be better going hid for the dipped and for this you need H3, 35W or 55W and colour range between 4300k and 6000k, so yes a kit for £20.00 is good from the far east but you'll have to wait 3 weeks perhaps.

 

I could sell you one for £25.00 delivered and you'll have it this week, 55w, 5000k and of course H3.

That sounds like a good offer, when i get some money wed/thur i'll get your paypal addy and buy it, do you have some details/pics etc is it used or new?

Brand new, I will fully test before dispatch.

Slim ballasts in the crisp white colour, I buy them from the far east so therefore I always a few sets knocking about, mainly for my own use or anybody that requires them in a hurry as I am always willing to sell.

How many of those kits have you got matey? I could do with upgrading my 35w dta group buy hid's that cost 10 times that price lol! I'll take one if available...

I have 2 sets as it happens so it'll clean me out Joel !!!!

Hey, I've ordered a set of these HIDS too hopefully fitting them this week! I also had trouble finding the correct bulb fitment it is a h3c mate but as mentioned above you've done the right thing and opted for the HID's £25 is a bargain!

If Rich finally puts up is details and a mod sees it, please pm me them please and delete his details.

N Hi, i'm not to bad, Had a couple of times before New year when i wasn't, one nearly ending up in AE. I've so nearly got the car on the road, but apart from the previous issues, the Gearbox in the X5 went, got rid, got a BMW 330ci convert, now THAT gearbox has busted..no reverse gear F**K , so i desperately need a Japanese reliable car... Then over Xmas, after those gales, 7 of my fence panels blew down, with 6 posts.. whilst i was not well. took me 3 weeks to put them back up, So since you and Mark sorted me out, its been hell...

Well i finally sorted out a front bumper for the car, couldn't get that grey one to fit, it needed major rework. Found a site with a post on doing bodywork mods, great thread, then the bl**dy site got switched off...remember it.. So i ended up buying a cheap std bumper, made from bendy stuff not the grp crap the grey one was.... had to get some metalwork for it from Kev.

So all i need to do now to get it on the road is jack every tyre and clean the disks and then get a bulb for the headlamp ... oh, thats where you came in...

Sorry, dont know your name, but i found these that i bought for my X5 last year for the fog lights as they didn't work, turns out it was the ballast units, They say headlamp units and the ones on ebay that say "H3C replacement" look like these... Are these the same as the light units you have (pic would be nice) But then you said i would have H3 bulbs, and these do not look like them.

Yes those look H3 and the type you need, I'd keep those as spare if I was you and/or test them with the ballasts in the kit I am sending.

Take it you mean in your front fogs, if so yes providing they actually are H3 and you get a pair of ballasts to run them, plus you'll need to adapt the fog housing a tad.

Yes all different types, for the purposes of HID's, type H3 is required for both dipped and front fogs.

 

As would an H1 kit work for our main beams.
