Metal door lock thingy fitting

Got my new metal door lock thingamajig to replace the broken plastic one....yay!

Promptly removed door card expecting to find a nice big cave to work in and was confronted with this tiny hole.I can just about see one 10mm lock screw...

Can someone please tell me where I go next, as I don't want to remove contraptions I don't need to and don't believe I need to take the whole door apart.

    Door lock handle is held in by 2 x 10mm nuts, one is viewable as you have seen and can be accessed from the large hole using a small spanner, the other is accessed by removing the grey plastic disc/grommet that is far right in your picture, you will need a 10 mm socket and small extension bar for that.
