Can anyone please advise me why I can't get any hot air from my heater. I've been working through some of the faults on the Z over the last 12 months and I'm left with the heater and the rear de-mister just not working.

Yes it gets up to temp ok. The rad was changed with the thermostat

First things first, get your hand under the dash above the clutch pedal and check the valve is opening on the heater matrix when you set it to call for heat.

if its only started doing this since you had the radiator changed then there maybe some air still in the system.

maybe run the car back upto temp with radiator cap off and see what the water level is at.

put the front of car on ramps or try get it a little elevated on the front...run the car with the cap off the rad as been stated for 10 mins and turn the temp control to max heat and bleed the system, sounds like its air locked.

Thanks for the advice gents. I have not had any hot air since i bought it, even before the rad was changed.

Mine had no hot air either. I found a plug disconnected behind the panel under the steering column... reconnected that and everything's been nice and warm since then.

Might be worth whipping that panel off and checking everything's connected where it should be.

Check the water level at the rad cap, even a slightly low level can cause the heater matrix to air lock, also check the pipes at the back of the engine to the matrix are connected and not been linked out by a previous owner. Rear demister check fuse in the drivers foot well fuse box, also check the earth tag on the tailgate, passenger side under the side plastic.

Sorry Dave to just clarify the heater matrix valve is not above the clutch pedal area it is to the left over the tunnel area and has the heater ecu, mounting bracket and plastic cover over it so is not possible to put your hand on it.

My mistake. It was ages back when I had to fix mine. Turned out it was the cable actuating the valve that had come loose.
