Just wondering if anyone knows of a way to get round the

tax problem. I need to make a substantial order and dont

particularly want to add another 27% on later.

Any help much appreciated.

There is no real way round it.

If you could you could get someone in the US to buy it and then forward it on to you in new packaging.

If you have it wrapped in gift paper type of stuff and write gift on it. They dont tend to charge you for it.

Only trouble is dont know anyone that well in the US

I`d be happy to pay a one off fee to make it worth doing.

Good for them and good for us.

But you would need someone you can trust.

Most people i have dealt with in the US are quite happy to put a lower value on the paperwork to reduce VAT and Duty. However if anything happens to it it`s only insured for the declared value.

I have had things sent as Gifts, Samples and Repaired Returns which have been exempt from Vat and Duty but being VAT registered i don`t bother anymore.

Hi Vijay

Fairly big - a clutch and some smaller bits

Mark

sorry mate, can't help with the clutch. If they were smaller bitz I could have asked him to bring them over with him next month.

Sorry,

Vijay

I remember Phuong once saying that you could get stuff sent to him (he's in Pennsylvania) then he would repackage it and send it via the most cost effective method internationally. Would be nice if you bought something from him as well of course - because he is a top bloke !

Mark, all Courtsey stuff comes FEDEX in a few days, duties bill arrives a few days later, even if they ship to Phoung, they use courier service and then from him on to you, so may work out dearer, as an example of prices, a clutch and flywheel kinda weight is gonna cost around £75 to come over and that's a 10-12 day service, can sort you out clutches no probs as i always have em coming in from states and would work out cheaper and easier than all the messing around.

mail me if interested.

cheers

smithy
