just want to know what are the thoughts and opinions about bose speakers compared to sony, alpine, jbl. i can get hold of second hand bose speakers and possible some tweeters if im lucky. these particular ones are from a 2012 mazda 3 mps. ive read different views of bose bad and good and understand that buying car speakers is based on how you use them and preference etc.

getting rid of the sub box and amp that just slides from one side to the other in the trunk. and want to stick to just the norm. im a bass addict and have both treble and and bass at max

so does anyone using used bose speakers out of another car or bought new bose speakers fitted in their ladys?

I have bose in my audi and had my brother ( owns a recording studio ) in the car on the way home from cornwall and he was really impressed with them

Be careful, do you mean "general Bose speakers as fitted to many cars" or "the specific Bose systems - speakers and headunits and amps - made specifically for the 300ZX". From your first post, it looks like you mean "general Bose speakers". Bose, Sony, Alpine, JBL are all good so just pick the ones you like the sound of.

I have a Bose system in my 09 Mazda 6 and it's ok but not great. The infinity kappa component speakers in my 300 are far superior and relatively inexpensive.

A lot of these low end oem car audio setups like to have a brand name like Bose to sell the extras but in reality they're still relatively cheap products compared to the aftermarket offerings for surprisingly little money.

It seems to be a different story with the higher end manufacturers such as Audi who offer some serious audio extras but at an astonishingly high price!

these are what im talking about but seems like they are just standard then

They certainly don't look like the 300ZX custom Bose kit. Unless Mazda / Bose did something weird, I would guess they're standard. In which case if you like them, fine. JoelyP has a good point also.

no no this isnt a 300zx bose kit. i was merely asking the sound difference between that picture of bose speaker compared to any other name brand. but the speaker size is different for the 300zx bose rear set up that come in the enclosure rather then just the metal frame

I have had many high and low priced systems in my cars over the years, and must say some of the cheaper stuff is just as good if not better than the high priced gear.

Joel mentioned infinity as good speakers and to be honest, I have to agree! They are great speakers for the price.

thanks fellas!! so now which brand is good for bass? in my first z i had bought some infinitys but wasnt too keen on them and switched to the sony xplod. they did the job for me and its been over ten years since im having to buy some new sets :D and really only every bought sony.

I havnt got my zed anymore so couldnt tell you but ive always gone jbl for aftermarket and always been really impressed with them. Id say its more about proper isolation and sound deadening than spending over the odds for speakers. Get some mid priced speakers, decent amp, good oxygen free cables and go to town with the dymatt!!

This is probably of no use me commenting, but I have two Bose systems in the House

The one in the living room is one of the 'Lifestyle' systems from the late 90s with five 'double cube' speakers and a big fook off Sub

It sounds good!

The one in the dining room come home bar is a 1985 Trio Amp (true 170W RMS per channel and 0.001%THD (distortion) @ full power) and this drives a pair of Bose 301's of the same age with no separate subwoofer. I have owned these for nearly 30 years.

Believe it or not the vintage one without a sub is actually much louder and has more punchy beefy bass and a far richer better sound altogether (think high end club/disco system)

Not sure why I mentioned that but I did lol

Vintage electronics rock! And I love Bose
