I have the halfords one. It's a bit flimsy if I'm honest but at that price is worth it

I can get the American pro one for around the same price as the Halfords one, which is a huge saving on the rrp of it which is about £500 just wondering if its worth it for a second hand one though

Now you've linked the halfords one I think I'm going to get myself one!

Nice find buddy, thanks :D

Errrr, surely there is an old green c-stores, solid, last a lifetime, professionaly built, high quality chest that a man with your resourcefulness could acquire, lol.???

We have a wannabe hitler as a 'oic' for c-stores and he is not the giving kind, bit of a tit really haha.

I don't know what you have, if your low on tools though that cash would be better spent on one of their large advanced range socket set etc boxes. They're very well priced for the quality and come with lifetime no quibble warranty.

I purchased a Clarke one from machinemart. It all depends what you want something where the drawers fall out is no good but equally you don't need an expensive empty box that you rarely use....

My tool boxes that came with my tools have been destroyed. Quite flimsy the halfords plastic tool kits, it's upgrade time before I do myself injury trying to walk around the car without stepping on tools!

Look very carefully at it. I think it will be a little small and tinny compared to their pro range. Go to machine mart and look at their clark range. I've just bought a roll cabinet on their vat free day and saved £40+ and got a very sturdy cabinet. I think it's better than the Halfords equivalent. I believe Machine Mart are having another vat free evening tonight.

The clarke boxes are very good value for money and they do some big toolboxes,Have a look at there HD roller bearing range

Thread revival alert !!!!!!!!!!!

The Halfords tool chests are half price and have been for a while, i went down for a slidey drawer play before the weekend and have been pondering what to do ever since.

I then receive an email with 15% off workshop tools, well...............................

I concluded i liked the industrial range the best and put the 3 main players in my basket, then the code - 15WORKSHOP which saves a further £75, so all for £446 a no brainer imo, all i need to do is tootle on down, pay and pick them up :cool3:.

Not sure as i type but i may even have a further 3% back because i did it through Quidco, no flies on me !!

I received 2 texts, one to say my local branch as received my order and about an hour later one to say my order is ready.

So i trots on down there, gave them my details and he goes off armed with his pallet truck - he's a while but i say don't worry about it.

Returns with only 2 boxes and is annoyed that someone somewhere has not pulled up on the fact that their stock level is incorrect, i am missing the linked item below.

At this point i am realizing these boxes are big and the 2 i see in front of me will fit in my car but doubtful a third.

'I'll have to order the 6 drawer chest, we'll get it here for you tomorrow or Monday now, i am so sorry i'll knock you some money off', my poker face remains, so he duly knocks £40 off (managers discretion it says on my receipt), so my total spend now is down to £406, although it looks like i'll get a further £11 off this because i went through Quidco.

Whilst he did my receipt/ordering i saw the opportunity to load my car myself and 2 boxes filled it, so i have been compensation for my inconvenience when i would of had to return anyway !!!!

I feel guilty but that'll soon pass .

What a piece of kit this is as well, robust, looks the part and a total steal !!

After a garage tidy up and several cleansing visits to the recycling centre, here we have all 3 units fit as one and what a great investment i have made.

It is surprising how much one can store in these, the drawers glide in/out effortlessly and with a quality feel, some drawers are deeper than others you may notice and all lock, i've not even used the lift up top part yet where there is a metal lift out tool tray.

Oh and my CZ has crept into the picture - going for respray, full restoration work very soon :sneaky2:.
