good decision AGK

Jeff changed the leaking matrix on my old Zed while I waited (well actually I went for a walk around town)

It took a few hours but it never went wrong again, the car was nice and warm inside, and it was still working fine when I accidentally wrote the car off being silly a year or so later

I was thinking about zedworld in first place as I found thier web couple yrs before i even bought zed and since then I knew this must to be best zed specialist in UK ;-) Im just worried a bit about distance I have to travel ...hopefuly ething wil be okk .

JeffTT email sent ;-)

On a side note, you should subscribe lol

I will but first I need to sort out my car then I can spend money for other things lol :P

Yes thats right, might be worth linking out as groover mentioned, check to see how bad the leak is by monitoring the water level at the rad cap and how wet the carpet is by the front of the transmission tunnel.

Jeff TT

Well the leak wasn't really big I assume as carpet wasn't really wet , but I cnt see any water in radiator so I guess It went very low , I hope I didn't overheated the engine but as I said engine temp was normal when I came back home and car stopped blowing hot air into cabin while before I arrived home .Another thing is that I cnt check level on reservoir coz I dnt have it ? lol It should be where I hold my finger on one of the pictures but its not there / I go thru paper work and cnt find nothing about it :( I look couple times under the hood and cnt see it .

Anyone got any idea ?

Might be just the fill tube missing or relocated, the blue pipe coming from the rear of the rad cap should go to it.

Ill try to track it later on , Ive just pur 1,5 l of coolant mixed with water into rad till level reached cap , wait till engine warms up and I took car for short drive (2km )

I stop and spot only couple drops under passanger feets but after while engine temp went higher than half , all the time I had hot air blowing into cabine then I slowly comeback home . Engine temp after while dropped down I guess I need to add more water into radiator ?

Ill do so after car cool down , it seems that I will have to take lots of water and stop couple times to cool down the car on the trip to U mate.

That blue pipe is directed under the car so coolant just drops on the floor, anyway Im expecting the worst as car on cold start up blowing white sweet smoke from exhaust for 10-15 min then its okk , Ive read a bit about it but specialist need to look at it , blown head gasket , turbo seals ... what else God knows .Its a definitely bad start for me in New Year :(

Don`t jump to any conclusion just yet, firstly the white smoke your talking about is very likely condensation and head gasket failure is unlikely, heads do warp when the engine has had a major over heat but rarely do head gaskets fail. If there is an issue with the headgasket/ head then over pressure of the system will mean driving the car for more than a few minutes is not possible.

Very likely you just need the matrix and a set up doing, quite normal for a new owner to feel as you do, within a small time your will understand more what is good and bad with your zed.

No more sleepless nights :P well a kind of but that's a different story ...

So Ive arrived to Jeffs place ,and I must say I never saw so many zeds in the garden :)

Job done very quick and professional , most important is that after engine diagnose everything seems to be healthy so I guess I cn start modding it on some stage :)

Thank You Jeff it was pleasure to meet You .

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Yeah Im happy too but U guys wont believe wot happened today ... So I changed bulbs in the dash for leds , I do regret that a bit :P as some taps and bolts were missing in the side pods , they were glued on in some places so after I put it back all together they got gaps here and there ...it looks crap .Another thing to do :) till today I forgot why Im getting old cars - to work on them :)

Another thing indicators stopped working , but I refit hazard switch and they work again ... then after I start the car radio and clock stop working as well .I took it for a ride turn it off , turn it on then clock came back to life but radio don't :( any Idea what can be wrong with the radio ?

<a href=3j69.jpg' alt='3j69.jpg'>

just to add ive disconnected battery while changing bulbs , does this could make radio to stop working ? interior light and boot light stopped working as well .

:(

Yes mate, the standard ones.

thanks mate , ordered them today , hope it will work .

Definitely sounds like the fuse

nope its not the fuse :( any other ideas ? also I got some problem with alarm , for example door warning light remains on all the time is this all can be related to alarm ?

I had a problem like that once and it was doing my head in... Then I realised that the boot lid looking closed but actually wasn't. Checked by just trying to lift it up and slammed it down and the alarm stopped kicking off.

As for the lights and radio I'm not too sure. Some radios have a fuse stuck on the back of them though.
