Although there are as many opinions as there are grades.

As for brand. everyone has their favs.

I use Fuchs or Royal Purple.

Zed #2: 1998 Midnight Purple 2+2 NA. (owned 2020 - now)

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)

Shell recommend Shell Helix HX7 10W-40 It's a semi synthetic which is oil the Nissan recommend

10w40 (summer) or 5w40 (winter) *

Semi or fully synthetic.

Pick a brand.

*10w40 is fine all year round, but the 5w40 can help on those really cold winter days

What they said..... A "30" grade oil is too thin for a 300zx; even an n/a, what with it being an older car! Don't go lower than the "40" recommended by Nissan, I say.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
