I have a uk spec car, and the headlight uses H3 bulbs. Obviously like everyone knows the lights are crap on this car.

Question is can i change the standard 55w H3 bulb for a say for example 100w H3 bulb without any problems. Anyone tried this?

Your thoughts would be helpful!

You can change them if you can find them but they have a habbit of blowing because of the heat inside the lighting area. Some people drill holes in the lighting housing to allow the heat out but I dont like the idea of that.

I fitted H3 100w and have not had any problem. Just drive faster and it will cool everything down.

I have fitted these to the dipped lamps. I must say, you get good at changing bulbs. Last one blew on Friday, popped the fuse as well and left me automatically on main beam. Embarrasing, or what. Now gone to 55W super dooper all weather etc. Seem OK.

So have you tried to change the fuse to a bigger amp to sustain the bigger wattage of bulb??

Nah, don't bother, just bridge it out with a paper clip :D :D

Hmm, so where did you get the 'super dooper' bulbs? Can you give us some extra info on this?

Ta,

Russ.
