I didn't know these existed until I spotted Andy Stokes selling one from out of one his breakers on ebay about 2 weeks ago, I just had to have it for £20.00.

Of course it will never work as my ICE as long since changed but it's doing no arm.

I have already found the wires from the mini din 8 pin plug to light up the buttons and the lcd screen, lights up green so don't know if I'll open it up and change the illumination to red or blue and I'll be wiring it into the sidelight circuit when I fully fit after xmas as it's going under the tree for now.

As anyone else got one ??

I think your next install should be a flux capacitor not a new bosch heavy duty battery buddy

Well he's gone 'Back to The Future' with that CD player..:)

My job here is done, I'll just get me coat :whistling:

There is one in my old Slicktop. Now owned by Bantambunny. I still have the multi changer unit for the boot and the wires are still in situ. Let me know if you want it Nick. Pretty sure I have it's mounting plate too.

Also got one of these in my 91 JDM, never got it working, but not looked into it...another job for the spring! will get a CD player for it if i get it running.

I have seen these before - but only on JDM cars....

Great if you can actually use it; but so many people have upgraded their head units nowadays and the addition of Bluetooth, SD cards and I-Pod connectivity has made the CD changer a relic of the 1990s...

Richard:cool:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Very true Richard, in that same arm rest I have a connection that goes into my phone so I can listen to One Direction in all it's glory .

Sure no one else is interested in this but I did notice the same item above was purchased :sneaky2:, I hinted above about changing the colour from green, it's the usually condom covered jobbies that shine through under the buttons and they did seem a bit delicate so I painted the underside in red and for good measure blobbed a bit on the tops of the bulbs themselves, take my word for it the button illumination is now a subtle red :cool3:.

Have one of these in my slicktop (bit of a stickler for optional extras)

Sourced the wiring diagram for the unit and wired it as so that the output signal is converted to Bluetooth, which I have paired with my Pioneer head unit. Utilised the 12V signal wire that the controller sent to the original Clarion Head unit to switch it to stacker mode, wired into a USB port to recharge the Bluetooth sender unit.

No reason why you cant do the same, but wire it to a stereo jack input (most aftermarket head units have these). Shoot me your email address, and will endeavour to find the manual and send it to you.

For such an old stacker, the sound is surprisingly good, and rarely skips, even on our terrible Aussie roads.

Cheers

Michael

Nice work mate and a nice offer too :thumbup1:

I've got the controller in my 91 JDM, no multiplayer though are they often available?

very rarely come up on yahoo auctions. Interesting to also note that the 300zx stacker came with a leather cover.

Pretty sure the stacker model number is a Sony CDX-5N-51-P, also available over there (in the uk) in a ford mondeo (iirc), which come up from time to time on ebay.uk.

It will have the FORD logo on the controller, unsure of the stacker.

Found the manual, which is pretty extensive with regards to repairing the stacker units. Probably a bit too large to post on here, but can email.

Cheers

-Michael
