Electrical help needed

To pass an mot I had to make my fog lights work as side lights, this itself was due to having to shave the back of my indicator / side light cluster to aid fitting of bigger intercoolers,

Now I have fitted LED bulbs into the correct side light position and want to return the wiring to normal.

I cannot recall what I did and no amount of cursing has helped, I need a schematic which clearly shows the wiring from the foglight to indicator and to the side light , can anybody help please, oh my car is a jap 93 auto and all the connections were the three pin type, will this now be a problem as the LED holder is a two wire type I,e live and neutral ,

Thanks

PS I have searched tech threads but to no avail

The original wiring diagram will be available in the FSM.

Various locations on the interweb, and there is even an app in the Play Store. Search for Z32.

when you say 3 pin plugs yours must be a S2 on a 93..they have curb lights on the turn signal side..so you will have a side light live..a curb light live and earth..Its best not using the phrase "neutral" in automotive terms as all you need is live and earth and given as these cars all have plastic lights then each item will have its own earth..just take your time with a tester, the type which tells you a earth and live feed.

FYI........the curb light live will only be so if the low beams are 'on', so turn them on when you touch about.

The plug for the fogs is 3 pins, sidelight and fog light live with one ground.

yes znut you are right . It is a 93, Phutumsch on the fog light connector I have 2 live wires but they both seem perm live not switch live when turning the sidelights on ? ( green and red stripe ) and 1 neutral or earth whichever is correcrt ( black colour) I take it I take a feed from one of these live wires to the LED bulb , that being the case where do I connect the the wire from the other side of the LED bulb ?

That doesn't make sense as your saying a twist to put the sidelights on would turn your fogs on as well, I know hitting the fog light switch does it the other way and turns the sidelight circuit on.

Wondering if someone as messed before, or is that you :whistling:.

To answer your last question, yes you need a sidelight feed to it and the other pin needs to be grounded or earthed, the black you mention will work, leds are polarity sensitive so swap them over if they don't work.

righty ho ill double check tomorrow , but from what I read. I find which one of the lives at the foglight is solely a sidelight live ( I must have gotten myself into a muddle earlier ) ands I connect that to one side of the bulb , then I earth the other side of the bulb to the car body and all should be good ? is that correct ?

On the fog light unit itself you have three wires, blue which is for the sidelight, so whatever coloured wired connects to this at the multi plug is the feed wire you require to run from, red connects to the H3 fog bulb, the black splits inside the unit and one goes to the T10 or 501 sidelight bulb holder along with the blue one mentioned and the other spades on and makes the ground at the H3 bulb metal casing :thumbup1:.
