Well for a few years now noticed oil coming from the back of the engine but very small amount, think it's the crankshaft oil seal! But noticed it's getting worse as there is oil on my garage floor as there never used to be,how bad will this get if it protist and I don't repair it? If I have to repair it is it easier enough to do?

well it will get worse the longer u leave it .. but u have 2 things at risk .. running the engine low on oil and damaging your clutch

job its self isnt hard but Gear box and clutch/flywheel will have to come off to replace it

Does this mean oil could progress through to the clutch? How would I know? Could it slip? The clutch is a new uprated one so don't want to damage it.

yes m8 any type of contamination will damage the clutch .. making it slip to the point that the pads can disintegrate ... the Seal it self sits at the end of the crank that the flywheel and clutch is bolted to so its at direct exposure to the oil

Yup - what he said....

.....Whilst you are only seeing a small amount of oil on your drive, you don't know how much of it is being thrown around inside the bell-housing as the engine spins!! And regarding oil loss, do remember that the ZX has a relatively small (IMO) sump capacity for its engine size - so you certainly do not want to risk it running low on oil:wink:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
