You'd best declare it as a modification - and no doubt some insurers might use it as an excuse to charge you a bit more - but realistically it should not make a difference....

.....And I guess I'd also inform DVLA; especially if the car is listed as a 300zx turbo automatic (or whatever) - as it won't be an auto any longer!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

When I did mine the insurance company didn't care, as the car could be a manual from factory. They didn't class it as a modification at all.

Made no difference to mine, as said above, its not a modification, just a gearbox change that would have been available from the factory.

And as far as notifying DVLA, i notified them of a change of colour on the car when i moved house and it still hasnt been changed on the logbook, so obviously dont give a damn.

That's alright they're bloody useless, didn't vodka shots have a zed once which was a primera on the log book.

chage the log book because it is a point were if an enineer were to say something when and only if the worse happened you dont want not to get paid out. it dosnt cost anything. likewise i cant remember who but there is someone on here who didnt get paid out on there insurance when there car went up in flames and the insuranec company didnt payout becuase he changed his front seats for after market jobbies.there is a part on the insurance form were it states any modifications followed by another box asking you when. When you insuring your car. have this modificatiobs done whilst you owned the car. if you put no then you wont get pepole all over it. if you tick yes you havr the risk of engineers reports and higher premiumes.
