A friend sent me this picture today. Clearly it's photoshopped but I personally think it looks quite good (certainly different). So which one of you out there would know how to go about making a light panel like this one?

Bummer.

I've asked a friend who works putting vehicles together to see who manufactures his rear light clusters.

Can't say too much on here.

He's going to let me know Monday.

I'll give you the contact details if he comes through.

They are a bespoke company and should be able to design them from an original Nissan blueprint on CAD.

It's a shame really as my other friend has a CNC plasma cutter.

Shame it's not plastic :(

Get Andy on the case I like that!!

Cheers John but I've read this thread with interest and I'm with Joel, it aint gonna be cheap if at that it gets off the ground .

Somebody find me a manufacturer company. I can't believ this is proving to be the most difficult part, lol.

this thread is making me laugh...does anyone have an idea of the tooling costs for a injection moulding...iff every zed owner on the planet bought a set it would,nt re-coup the initial investment needed for development..production..and marketing. Also you just cant go banging on doors and expect a company to give up its contact list thats been built up over years. come on lads get real:rofl::rofl:

Well I learnt something then.

I'm a pc/telecoms engineer.... It takes me 5 mins to melt plastic.

Thought it'd be that easy :hang:

ime a self employed roofer so dont let me ruin your dreams...imho the production costs will be prohibitive for the given very small market bud.

Fine, I'll give up. Knew it would be an expensive longshot. A boy can dream though... :-)

So how do companies that manufacture aftermarket lights for not so common cars (The zed) expect to make any money out of it?

(curiosity taking over)

there dealing with a common hole size thats never changed, just the style...when you start thinking of something thats never been done before like a full width lense and all its asociated problems i really cant see a company taking it on.Iff the model was still in production or at the very least ceased production a few years ago then maybe as the invester would know theres a chance of a return by numbers. Ime only taking an educated guess here remember but i dont think ime too far from the reality of the idea.

Ah I see what you mean. But would a third party manufacturer still need the mould/design diagrams or what not from Nissan to produce duplicates from?
