Recently, the door lock on the driver's side (left hand side - EU) has broken. The key goes in and spins 180 degrees without doing anything. I've gone to the official Nissan repair shop and they told me a small part had broken inside the door that holds the lock in place. The bad news was that they were unable to get it or even find a part number for it, so I looked for it on the online parts database and ordered two separate parts that I thought were right from Germany. They weren't, so now I took a picture of the part in question in the hopes that someone here will be able to recognize it and hopefully provide the real part number. Any help is appreciated! :)

 

The last picture is in cm, so the whole part is about one and a half inches long.

 

 

 

 

thats your drivers door key Lock Leaver for the inside Main door latch/lock

 

not sure of part number ... but someone on here will have one im sure

Comes as part of a new lock barrel, you can change the whole lot but will have a second key then or just take the part you want from the new barrel and fit to the existing one, very common part to fail as the plastic gets brittle over time Unfortunately think you find the new barrel will be at £60+

Doubful, but ask MJP (In traders section), thats your best bet.

It's moments like this that I wish I had any kind of mechanical know how. I was thinking of molding the broken ring in superglue, but I get the feeling that would cause more problems than it would solve :whistling: I guess I'm off to the trading section for this one!

You could also try CZP - Concept Z Performance in the US. I've used them before for shipping small parts to the UK and their

rates are reasonable.
