That's pretty low but are you sure that the the clocks are original to the car/haven't been turned back etc..?

My UK had done 130,000 miles before I rebuilt it including all new running gear and a low mileage engine, so mine had been used quite a bit but still solid framed :)

You're right there mate. Still if it all checks out then nice one that is low mileage :thumbup1:

Mines not quiet as low as that.

But like you i have all the paperwork from when she was imported, the last owner, so only 1 previous UK owner.

she currently sits at about 50K which isnt bad for a 21 year old car. she's been in the UK 12 years as well so to only have the 1 owner is pretty good :)

Thats very low. There was a for sale advert for one on something like 11k once, but it was bascially a dry stored showroom car.

My Slicktop is on 34k miles, and I have been doing an amazing job of keeping it low for the past few years. Although in reality only the shell is original, everything else has been replaced during its rebuild.

Over the years we have been operating the case of mileage/km on imports has often raised its head with many doubters suggesting that all imports were (clocked ) however we have never seen any sign of that, having converted hundreds to read in MPH the speedo`s are in the main untouched whilst in Japan.

The reg year or declared date of first use however is a whole different case, there was a real problem several years ago when imports were massive been declared newer than they actually were. This was aided by a near zero checking process by DVLA when these cars were registered here. Was shocking how many times I had to gently advise cusomers their new L reg zed was in fact a G 1990 hated doing it but what else to be done? helped a few customers get their money back or a replacement car by going to the garages with them armed with the chassis code date and the DVLA fraud number printed at the top of the page...amazing how helpful they became!!

Nice one dkboro121

Thats an interesting read Jeff, as mine is on a K plate, but is actually a 1990 and the log book states 2004 and thats not stated as the import date on the log book so i dont know what cock up went on there lol

No cock up would have been a deliberate act by the importer to get a newer registration, all they had to do in the early days was make a declaration if first use in Japan, this was completely un-checkable by DVLA and given boat loads of imports were landing in UK docks daily at the time they became overloaded eventually just rubber stamping any applications to get them through.

I am firmly of the opinion this was a direct reason why zed prices fell sharply during this period and continue to stay lower than alternatives like Supra`s etc. because said importers sold the wrongly registered zeds at the wrong prices, lets say a genuine G. reg at the time was going for £5k they were selling what appeared to be an L or K reg at the same £5K (so it looked good value and sold quickly ) where a true K or L reg should have been £7k or £8k now what this did was to press the prices down, but artificially and they have never really recovered. of course the said importers are all gone now and on to their new scams I guess...

Yup - and I also know of another 11k miler on the forum..... PhilP owns a black ZX that once belonged to the Sultan of Brunei - that is a UK spec car, on an H-plate with only 11k miles on it!!!

Mileage has grown to the dizzy heights of 13K now. I bought it in May 2009 and it was on 11,900 by the time I got it home. I've hardly used it since hence just over a 1000 miles in 4yrs.

Mine came with 3 Speedos none that were fitted, so I have no way of.knowing the mileage of the car, but I know it's quite low as it's so clean everywhere. Was owned by a famous boxer at one point kept in his garage then changed hands and engine broke soon after and has been stored since I'm.guessing

Wow - good to know it's still a collectors' ZX though Phil....:)

When i was looking to buy my vert, back in 2006, i found one with 3000km on the clock, and it looked that new.

It was however that poo brown that they only used on verts , so i can see why the previous owner was embaresed to drive it more
