Looked outside this morning, seemed strange not seeing the old girl in the back yard..........coz yesterday I dropped her off at Lee Dents place for some work, well I say some work but there is quite a list.

The brief is make it fast and shiney so we will see what happens, I'm really looking forward to the results.

Good to finally meet Lee and his family after a few chats on the phone.

Will do, car was running OK but wanted a good going through, Lee's going to replace the boost jets with a blitz electronic boost controller and power meter setup, do all the deletes, tidy a load of stuff up and get it as strong as possible before I book in with Noz.

Polished Plenum, throttle bodies, water pipes, cas bracket, all new vac lines....... the list goes on.

Now I have to chose a colour for the respray.

Daffy im saving like mad at the moment coz i do fancy your MR2 mate its a corker, im going on holiday in a weeks time and when im back and have sorted a couple of other bits out if your cars still available im going to have a serious look at it, i would love it on my drive its a credit to you buddy.

It looks great from 5 feet away but get up close to it and there are areas that need attention, the guy who sprayed it in japan has half arsed it in places, ie door shuts are flat white not pearl like the body, boot shut and bonnet underside is the same which really p#$$es me off.

I am building a car to take to shows and drive so the paint has to be right, the pearl white has grown on me in the 2 years ive had it but my uncle had a candy apple red corvette and i loved that colour, ive seen Luke Borgs car up close and i love that colour so ive looked at House Of Kolors range and i quite fancy the Brandywine red , i just have to find a painter whos is prepared to do it and do it to show standard.

If i was to keep it the same pearl white i would make it a brighter , blue tint pearl. But im leaning towards the red right now.

I know what you mean about Luke's Z - I have seen it up close a few times and I love that deep metallic red as well and very nearly went for the same on mine.... then finally opted for the Audi White of course which was my other preferred option

 

You've seen the quality of the respray work done on mine Ian, if you like I will put you in touch with the guy who did it though 'Candy Apple' isn't cheap - as I understand the process, it involves a silver back coat then multiple layers of tinted lacquer to build up the final colour

Never mind Ian - as much as you miss it, it's always nice knowing that it will be a better car when you get it back!!!
