Back in the UK for short period to liquidat - RE: my High Spec 300zx - Todays Values?

Heya Guys,

I notice a few of the regulars still posting so thought I'd put this up for some honest advice.

I pretty much live in France now chasing surf and am back for 3 months to finish a long list of left-behind projects.

I'm 100% going to shift this 300zx of mine (The White one I used post loads of pics for and as far as I could tell was always in the top 5 power-houses in the UK) -- I don't say this to start a debate!! :)

So, I haven't even started my 300zx since JapFest a few years ago, it's sitting in the same garage it was always in. AND There-in lies the Rub - House is no longer mine and the new inhabitant ( Mother-in-Law) is F'ing and Blind'ing to get it gone.

With the £45K+ that went into it's build and hardly any miles on it, I always thought it was worth an easy £7K+... but never got any serious interest.

Within a few weeks I may just stick in on ebay and get what it gets.

- If you think there's legs in it & there'd be interest - I'm happy to rejoin here also to stick it up as a sale thread as in parts it would be worth double what I get in a sale, I think.

So, What sort of number should I be expecting on sale?? High/Low? Granted it's the wrong time of year!

Many Thanks and hope all is well in the world of Zedheads

Very nice car indeed!

Coming on the subject regarding "easy" registration in France, it needs to be a UK 2+2 TT manual originally imported to UK by Nissan UK.

Then, the model is the same as the french imported type, and no matter the side of the driving wheel, Nissan france will provide the COC document for homologation.

The JDM models imported in UK, or the SWB cannot get this document, and you have to go through a procedure to get the car homologation... meaning 2500 Euro cost to open the file... before knowing if the officials will allow you to get the document!! There are cars in France that never got the acceptance, so that's a very risky operation.

The other more simple solution applies to cars 30 years old... but this means waiting quite a long time for 300TT!!!

My question is then: Is this car for sale a UK model originally imported by Nissan UK? (Or can you confirm the serial number identification number to check with Nissan?)

If positive, the french market is opened for those who accept to drive a RHD car on our roads...

But the price is penalized from RHD in France... do not forget this point.

The pictures are showing quite a number of mods: What are the ones on the actual car?

A clear definition of what are the components and the extras would be required for clarification.

Thanks for your answers...

sorry for the quiet spell. I will post the serial number to those who want to know. I bought it from a guy up in Leicester in 2006 who said it was a UK 1991 Model.

In 1999 he bought a new Engine block and started the rebuild. He worked at a Body shop had the Custom front bumper made, Took out the side petrol feed / put in the race type feed in the boot, had the cage built.. the list goes on an on.

When I bought it from him off ebay I went up there and his wife made me lunch. This car was their "pride and Joy" a car they both had a lot of passion for, but needed to sell for financial reasons. Before I left I was given a folder with receipts that add up to over £42,000

Since I got it, I had to rebuild the Top bank as a cylinder tapit disintegrated as it was running lean. around £1400

And then before my last outing in 2011 I spent close to £2K putting in 750CC injectors, new fuel piping and a fuel pressure regulator.

I took it to japfest and can stay that on the track it was a very stiff, solid piece of engineering. all I had to do was get on the accelerator coming out of the bends or get full boost on in anything up to and including 3rd gear and the back would just start stepping out. It was fun. From memory I'm running 1.1 or 1.2 Bar of boost.

*Ryan at 2Bar tuning has spent hours with me on the rolling road and will verify that mechanically this car is rock solid.

- I never pushed the envelop on the Rolling Road but we figured that 600 at the wheels was certainly within grasp with the 750cc injectors. From memory I have a 540 at the wheels Rolling Road readout from 2006.

- I had him tune it to 450 at the wheels for Japfest. Figured it was a very safe figure.

anyway.. have to get back to work right now. Will get out the specs this week and post.

Some Highlights: £1800 pair carbon seats

£ Motec M800 Engine Management System

£ Custom built straight through exhaust. Separated. One for each bank

£ The Roll Cage, Pictures barely do it justice. The Welds look like works of art! ( ok , now i'm selling ;) )

£ AP Racing 4 pot Calipers. I thought about going to 6 pot for bigger cosmetics but never had any desire/need for more

stopping power... so didn't

It most certainly has to go, and although I'm doing myself a disservice... can't see having the time to get it MOT'd, Taxed and Insured. will make the decision in the next couple days.

For those who are serious, I will go over in detail every inch of this car.. what I know, What I think.
