I have a few more thank you's to post.

Yesterday I was up at 02:00 showered and out the door to get to Keith's (KJZ32) for 04:30. We set off for London where we were going to collect my new shortie from Mark Freeman. We arrived at Marks around 08:30, where his cousin was waiting to hand the car over, sorry didn't ask names.....lol.

From Marks it was over to see Ade (gurteen0) the original owner of the shortie, who owned it for 10 years before selling it to Mark Freeman. Ade had a load of parts he had collected over the years and very kindly let me purchase them from him (thanks again Ade). The shortie was running well except on tick over where there was a miss. There was also a very strong smell of petrol right through the car, but we could not see any leaks from anywhere, so the decision was made to just get it home. Sorry to Rolandas, I was supposed to be collecting spats from him that he very kindly gave to me, however events took a turn with the petrol smell.

On the motorway the smell of petrol was only very faint, and there was no miss. The car drove faultless back and pulled like a train. We called in at SilverLine's place in Wolverhampton to drop off some bits I gave him for his Nissan Stagea, parts left over from when I had my Stagea.

From here we then drove to Lee Dents place in Shrewsbury.

Adam (Hollings) was at Lee's place, and could not quite believe I had purchased this shortie for the grand sum of £400.00.....lol. It was great to meet you at last Adam, Adam was kind enough to give me an exhaust in 2011, and we still hadn't met until yesterday.

Lee stuck the Zed on Conzult, where it showed a Throttle Position Sensor setting was off, he tweaked it, and the miss at idle had gone!!! What a fantastic guy Lee Dent is, he has kept hold of my shortie to give it a good once over for me too. Thanks very much Lee, and thanks also for your very kind donation to our care home fund raiser buddy.

Stayed a while at Lee's, then set back off with Keith to get to his place and my waiting car, then drove home after having a bite to eat with Keith, arriving back home at around 22:30ish

Thanks again to Keith who did most of the driving again, and for getting all the spares from Ade into his VW Sharan with such precision, nothing else would have fit.....lmao.

So thanks again to all, and hope to see you all very soon.

There you have it, another fantastic day for Max and Paddy, sorry, Keith and I.

Yeah buddy, I couldn't believe it myself. Some of the PTU connections are a bit corroded, but nothing too drastic, this was also a cause of the misfire along with TPS. I think I have a spare PTU somewhere. There is also a slight knock from the bottom end, but a new set of shells should sort that, failing that I have a spare engine with nothing wrong coming out of mine, so could throw that in for a while if needs be. It's over fuelling along the way somewhere too, that's causing the fuel smell to be quite strong, but the way it drove home from your place, showed there is very little wrong with it.

Oh yeah it's staying in the fold alright, no way will I sell her buddy. I am going to beg and rely on the generosity of all on here, and see how little I have to spend in getting her back to her former glory, not that she needs much......lol. Might be a bit more difficult being a shortie.

Defo see you at JAE next year buddy.

Take it easy bud, talk soon. And thanks again

Ian

Don't know if it's anything to do with it but I changed the fuel pump before for an aftermarket one awhile ago and seeming as its in the boot area I wonder if it's that for some reason

Just a thought ???

Anyway good luck matey

Speak soon bud

Wow, That's incredible you mention that buddy. At one point the Zed cut out and would not restart, at first we thought it was out of petrol, so a trip to the garage for some fuel. It still wouldn't start, so Keith Lee and Adam undone the fuel pump in the boot, it then started, so we thought it may be a loose connection, but maybe the pump is going faulty....Cheers Ade something to bare in mind for me.
