Oil capacity with new filter, oil lines and cooler?????

Anyone know how much oil I should put in for first turn over to prime turbo's, oil lines and cooler???

I have New oil filter, Empty oil lines and slightly bigger oil cooler?

I was looking at cranking over using 3.4 ltrs and then check dipstick after a few minutes?

What is best way..... add 3.4 litres and then add more if it drops...??

Cheers....... Russ

Well filled the engine with 4 ltrs of 10w 40 semi synthetic........ in total.....

Filled the power steering reservoir to cold level with Dexron II.......

Topped up Transmission with the little bit left in the bottle as cooler and lines had drained out when engine came out years ago..... will probably need more, but waiting to get the engine running first to see how much is left in there.....

Plenum is off still, fuel line is routed back to the tank via the return pipe..... so it won't wash the bores or fire.....

Fitted battery and went to crank it over and Nothing........ dash lights, no starter..... no click..... nothing....

Got worried that I had forgotten something or the starter had died.....

Then found the connector undone behind the drivers headlight unit that goes to the starter solenoid..... plugged it in and hey presto......

cranked over for 30 seconds, waited 10-30 minutes, then again........

Done that 4 times now.... going to check oil level tomorrow morning when I get a chance to do more....

I also filled the radiator with Long life coolant..... I spent ages trying to find distilled water to use, but could only find de-ionised water..... and was told they are different and to only use distilled......

Especially as I am in a very hard water area.........
