Just wanted to pass on respects to my cat Jess, he was 19yrs old and I had had him since I was 6... he was pretty slow and old but was always so loving and affectionate.

He had become quite ditty and would sit behind the cars as they were reversing etc, tonight while driving down the drive next to the house he must have walked out from a bush just as out of sight... my front wheel got him.... Poor poor bugger, I think it was quick for him at least but I am really devastated. He was one of the family. To lose him I knew was going to be bad and upsetting eventually, but for it to be on my hands.... unbearable.

And althoguh i wasn't going fast or anything it has really brought home how devastating cars and accidents can be to lives.... Drive save all.

Peace

Don't be too hard on yourself, i'm sure he has enjoyed every moment of his 19 years with you and you and the family must of given him a fantastic life to have lived that long.

Couldn't agree more.

My girlfriends cat where I live is getting a bit old now and I have the same issue every time I come into or out of the drive. She just does not move until your almost on top of her the dozy fuzz.

Hope you're alright mate, don't let it chew you up. Things like this happen, they just do and you can't change it. :crying:

I know how you feel about losing a cat thats been with you for years, really upsetting when they are like one of the family, he had a long life though for a cat.

Our cat whisky was also 19 and exactly the same thing happened a month ago. He was dopey and didn't care for cars, after being ran over twice previously in life, the third time was too much :( had to take him to the vet to be put to sleep :(. sorry for your loss bud, apart from family and friends there's nothing worse in life than loosing a pet :(

Again thanks for the words guys, it was exactly that - they get dozy in old age and jus stop being aware of the cars. Slowly coming to terms with it. He will e a dearly missed part of the family.

Oh so sorry to hear that, must have been awful. I am thankful he was gone and it was quick at least, it would have been hell if he was only injured.

Sad bud!!! Feel for you!, RIP Jess

Very sad, so sorry to hear this news. He must have been very well looked after to reach such a ripe old age of 19, so don't be too hard on yourself and think of all the good times you have had together.
