rear earthing point for amplifier.

I have nearly finished my new boot install, just the wiring to go.

Haven't done this yet as was going to do that and fit the new flip screen head unit at the same time to save removing the radio fascia twice.

Got one question though, where would be best to earth the amp in the boot? I have fitted loads of systems before but just want to make sure I do it right on the 300.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Depends where you have placed the amp, but mine for eg: is where the poly tray was pass side and i used one of the fixing bolt points for the plastic cover by the bottom of the rear wheel arch. Wire brush the paint off to give a good ground.

That's a good idea, I've just spend the afternoon wiring it all up. I ended up just going to one of the boot lock bolts for the moment, but will change it when I get a chance to hide all the wires through holes in the amp tray.

I'm quite happy with the (nearly) end result, although the TV head unit only has one sub out lead which is a bit odd, so need a female single rca to double male rca to get both sub's running ( will be "borrowing" one from work tomorrow :) )

OOOH dont use the boot lock bolts, they contain voltage for the boot light, the catch is the light switch.

I'll have to relocate that tomorrow then, probably the reason there was a faint humming sound then.

Cheers mate.
