Hi in 2000 my Z was painted in de beer Porsche Amethyst by a local sprayer.... In 2002 de beer changed the mix on their microfiche....

We found this out after my painter tried to replace the front bumper after accident damage and thought he was going mad when the paint was different.....

He checked and resprayed and again wrong colour mix....

He managed to get the right mix formula and did it...... But now I need it resprayed he can't find his 10 year old diary with paint code in it......

It is metallic and has pearl... de beer are being very unhelpful and nobody seems to have the 2000 de beer microfiche anymore....

Tried colour matching by local company and it has wrong metallic fleck colour to it..... more blue..... any idea's??

I am worried now that it will be a full respray rather than just the bonnet, boot and spoilers.....

Get in contact with a good paint supplier, they'll have the mixes listed on their system. Someone like Brown Brothers who import paints manufactured by PPG. If you know your paints, PPG are world renowned. Also bear in mind, that mixing half litres can have a dramatic effect on overall mix. Try to order the basecoat metallic and pearls in litre sizes as weights are too sensitive on small volumes which can throw the shade off by quite a way.

Not entirely sure where in Essex you are, but you have a Brown Brothers there.

Thanks Si and Ian.... The code is the same on both de beers fiches apparently..... they changed the mix as they realised it was incorrect in 2002..... But my sprayer used the earlier incorrect mix formula....

Soooo mine is ermmmm a wrong un...... (don't say anything about the veilside bodykit Si )......lol

I shall try Brown Bros on monday.... Going to try and take panel to CARS on Canvey island tomorrow morning.... they claim they can colour match.....

Can you get a colour match from a panel if it is metallic and pearl ?

I am hoping they can mix a rattle can so I can test it on my rear spoiler I wet flat today.....

I left a section untouched so I can test spray to see if metallics match. The newer de beer formula had more blue than silver and red, if I remember..... was 2002.....lol

Again.... Thanks Si and Ian....
