not having a good day i am off work til mon so thonght i would get my vert out and clean it not taken out much as interior being retrimmed my mondo ,cleaned it and pollished so looking great ,so intention is to put back in gagage and put cover back over it ,so lot going on in my head with looking to move ,started to put car away and backed into piller of garage scraped bumper and dented rear quarter ,fealt sick just ben to body shop that did respray ,looking at £ 400 the joys of having a fat arse car .

Oh no, really bad news buddy, I hope you sort it quickly and with as little damage to your wallet as possible.

I drove mine into a pillar before and nearly took out the front of my house....... Thought I had bled the brakes okay.... seemed fine... went to park on drive and couldn't stop..... air in the lines...and think the abs pump...??

I felt the same, sick, angry at myself.....

Is the car insured? what is the excess? Is it worth a claim?.....

These things happen sometimes mate, to all of us. I know I've done it a few times now!

 

Don't beat yourself up about it. Hope it gets fixed up and is back to looking good!

Best thing to do is get it repaired a.s.a.p so you won't be looking at it for too long and reminding you.

 

I did the same with my other car, had the front bumper and nudge bar all sprayed up, spent days with a clay bar, polished it and it looked brilliant. A few days later pulling out of a drive, couldn't decide which way to turn, left or or right so I went straight and took out a wall! These things happen but you have to laugh at yourself cos otherwise you'd cry mate :)

Bummer mate - I feel for you and would be thinking the very same thing. Actually I'd also be thinking of the cost because I'm a tight arse, but that's just so frustrating...:sad:

thought i would be more careful my partner got his new auditt had it three days and reversing it in the other garage caught the front wing on the metal draught stip had a nice deep scrstch trouble is garages doors are tight especally with a Z and i must be a crap reverser.lol

Your as bad as me vijay........lol.... Mine was because I didn't get all the air out when bleeding brakes.......doh...

It was the new one I bought! When I had my car repainted, I fitted blue glass and blue t-tops from a UK car. The t-top glass is in pretty reasonable shape, but I wanted them to look like brand new. I found a red UK TT at Jeff's with low mileage which had extremely tidy t-tops. This evening, I set about swapping the glass over. Now I've had t-tops apart before and rebuilt them. Easy enough, you just gotta be careful. I thought I was being careful, but overtightened one of the nuts just a little too much....and CRASH! Glass exploded everywhere.

 

I just refitted my old glass, but it pissed me off as it was in fantastic condition. I at least now swapped over the interior trim, so not all was completely lost.

 

FORTUNATELY, Rob Hughes also has some blue Jap spec blue t-tops in similar condition to the UK t-tops which I am having. So I can at least get my hands on others.

Yesterday was my weekly bad day. Today has been good though.

mikey how could you have only good days thats boring you need another Z ,car booked in but cant do for 2 weeks,put cover over it ,tomorrows another day hope its a better one ...

just one of those things that will teach me to look before revering ..
