So my mam was here earlier in her little micra. Anyway, I was looking at the radio and it turns out the the pin in the aerial has snapped off (the plug that goes on the back of the stereo.

What I'm wanting to know is, can the plug part be changed easy enough or do I need to pull the whole wiring out to fit a new aerial all together?

Can you solder bird?

If you can then buy the one that Si found and solder on the socket....

You will need to strip back the outer insulator leaving the outer wire sheath intact....

Strip-Inner-Plastic-Core-of-F-Connector-300.jpg

Roll this wire back over the cut outer plastic covering you just trimmed...

Stip back some of the inner sheath to reveal the inner core wire making sure the 2 wires do not touch....

insert into the new socket and solder the middle wire to the middle pin connection.....

crimp the connector carefully with a pair of crimps/pliers so the teeth looking parts grip the outer metal wire you pulled back.....

and job done.....
