Hey guys just trying to figure my spending for the car this next couple of months and im wondering how much a auto to man conversion would cost to start with.

Also I went out and decided to warm her up and take her round the block yesterday and she seemed to just be stuck on 2k rpm and not want to go any higher almost like a limp home mode - did this for about 20 mins then went back to her normal 5 cylinder self. Ive not been using her at all as I want to prevent bore wash any idea as to why shes started doing this all of a sudden.

Going to be chaning all the plugs next week and sorting all the coil packs out to see if I can give this one last go before I opt for an engine swap.

But you just said.....

Which means you had it running at least 20mins and probably 30.

Even at 2500 revs 30 mins of running means that the piston rings travelled up or down the bore 150,000 times.

If one of the bores is flooded with fuel due to a faulty injector stuck open then thats 150000 strokes of metal on metal without any proper lubrication. That is more than enough to wreck a set of rings and/or the bore.

Not having a go or anything just trying to stop you killing it instead of fixing it.

What cylinder is missing/not working??

ive tried just no one able to at this moment in time had someone try to get to me the last 3 weeks but has had some problems, anyways ill keep on trucking hopefully someone will be able to get round and have a look

Your not alone.... I'm sure any one of us could talk you though diagnosing the issue with just basic tools.

Ok well go buy/borrow one they are cheap enough and very useful.

The first trick you can try is with the engine idling place the tip of a screwdriver on the injector you should here it clicking the same as all the rest.

Turn the engine off disconnect the injector connector and clean the connections then use your multimeter to ohm the injector this is much simpler than it sounds.

Remove the plug and observe what colour the tip is. Give it a sniff, is it wet? Does it smell of fuel?

Pop the plug in the coil pack and get an assistant to fire over the engine. Is there a spark?

If not swap over with a known working plug and pack from another cylinder and try again.

At the end of the day you need 4 comments for it to work. Fuel, spark, compression and timing. If you were outta time it would be more than a single cylinder missing. If it was compression the car would smoke/steam. Therefore it's likely fuel or spark related. Just need to isolate which is wrong and which component isn't doing its job.

yeah thank you ill try all those and there is no steam or smoke from the engine and it gets up to and stays at temp just fine.

ok so now I think that its running on 6 just fine it hesitates like I just hit a wall or something from first start but once moving she seems perfectly fine until I stop then at idle its lumpy as anything

if you go to my facebook mark Andrew freeman I have a short vid of my engine there I cant seem to get the link to work on here
