After selling Eliza back in 2010 I thought it was time I bought myself another red sports car.

Ok, it's not a 300 and it's nowhere near as powerful or as fast/quick, but it is a two seater and it is a 1999 spec :)

It's the 1999 (MKII) MGF :w00t: and I bought it for a song with not much wrong with it, just a few notes to bring it up to scratch.

Absolutely loving the open-top motoring, in fact every opportunity I get the roof is off. I honestly think that these little cars are so under-rated. They may not be overly fast but they are bags of fun. Oh yeah and I've had all the hairdresser jokes already

Just thought I'd pop in a mention it

Thanks Gary. It was fun driving the Alfa I got of Baz, but it eventually had to go in favour of something that actually worked properly ;)

This 'F' is supposed to be only a stop-gap until we have the funds to buy something 'better', but the way we are feeling the 'better' will probably be a 2010/11 last production SAIC (China produced) very low mileage MG TF with all the knobs and bells on it :) and I have the full approval of Angie as she loves the car too!! Which is a huge bonus ;)

Nice one Dave, i have one exactly the same sat on my drive im either going to do up or sell for spares, the main issue which is a common problem with them is the gearbox clutch arm/actuator is ceased, common if they are sat for a long period of time, apart from that they look a great little car and of course ive done an led conversion to the interior dash etc in red.

Thanks guys, appreciated as always... love to all ;)

groover, this has had loads spent on it by previous owners, in fact the only thing it's not had is the SS under pipes which it'll be getting soon. Oh and a nice set of roll hoops (but they are f***ing expensive!). As for LED's, I've already put them in the footwel and the mirror downlights :)

It's my daily driver now, even though Angie keeps trying to take it off me and make me drive her shopping cart Focus! lol

I'll keep popping in to keep an eye on you all 8D

8D? that didn't work properly, lol

groover, don't suppose you did any photo's of your LED conversions did you? You could put a How-To up on the MG forums, they love those sort of things :D

I will take some Dave and post up on the MG forum, i went a step further than anything posted on their forum about the led dash conversion.

I was thinking if im going to keep it, changing the front end to the MGTF which will give it a facelift and as i swapped it for a mazda 323 i had, it hasnt cost me anything yet, so still to decide.

Don't they have a habit of blowing hg aswel?

Generally im not a fan of any MG but the 1.8 vvc is one of their better engines if there is such a thing lol, but yes head gasket and the clutch arm seizing is not uncommon.

Ive done a few rover HG's but to do anything major on these is drop the engine, which looks like a job i may have to do if i cant get the arm free with a hammer lol
