Does it have centre boxes? Could be a simple case of getting an exhaust shop to weld in two centre boxes, that's usually the cause.

Back boxes wont make much difference, it sounds like the cats were removed, which act as a silencer and therefore sounds like its running straight through to the rear boxes.

You can buy downpipes with silencers which help, also check to see if you have the X pipe just before the rear axle.

hi only drove her home today the chap says they are scorpian exhausts cant see any center boxes but she is so low ill have to jack her up tomorrow

Congrats! Well you have the opposite problem to me haha.

Look forward to seeing photos of your new baby!! :D Congratulations

I have scorpion quad exhausts on mine. I'd say they were defiantly a lot louder than stock :-/

I run the mongoose cat back setup on mine its got a nice burble, nice and quiet but loud enough to let you know what's under the bonnet.

Well I'm not in my 50's !!!!!! Til next may anyway lol

Welcome to the club mate, guess u better have a good look and post up some pics, we be better able to advise then mate. Or there's a few of us down this way if u fancy nipping over :)

I won't be in my 50s for another 24 years I'm a young tear away lol.

Also you may be able to get restrictors, they pop in the tail pipe and quieten down the exhaust, cheap temporary measure.

looking at the gap to work in think it might be a garage lift job .

i hope this sorts it petrol is dear enough already

once she is okay would be good to meet up down swansea way

and to those who mock my age think on this

retirement is closer to me than you and since the good fellows in london keep putting the retirement age up you could still be working at 70+

can't type anymore my sides aching from laughing andi may wet myself ----now thats old age

Ahh yeah I almost bought that one I think. If you can get a sound clip of yours then I would potentially be interested in sorting a deal out if you were interested as mine are too quiet :p ... Stock pipes with japspeed backboxes

Ps. Looks very smart! Has had a full respray if it is the same one I am thinking of.

That sounds like the way my first Zed was, on the motorway it was brutal, sounded like a jet fighter as soon as you went over 60mph.

Current car should be loud as people say Kakimoto boxes are loud, mine seems rather quiet though, even with cats removed and the only boxes on the system being the back boxes.

Hope you get it sorted to your liking soon.

And enjoy the Zed, awesome cars.
