Left O2 Sensor removal/change

My left 02 sensor needs replacing. I've not done this before and I understand I may need special tools to do it?

Are there any good writeups on how to do this and what tools I'll need?

Otherwise, does anyone have the tools already and willing to lend them to me? Promise to send them back asap!

Cheers

I have recently changed both of mine,

and the one thing I can not stress enough is, soak them with plus gas freeing oil (or similar) every night for a week so as to break the fit of the corrosion.

I used a length of copper brake pipe to drip some right at the base of the thread each night.

The last thing you want is to do is round off the hexagon. (or splay out the end of the socket)

Also, is it the left hand side as in passenger side? or as you look from the front?

The reason I ask is, if it is the passenger side you will most probably need to disconnect the air conditioning pipe. (19mm a/f I think)

Hope that helps.

To save yourself a whole lot of grief and buying un-required tools do the same as said above with soaking with plus gas or similar, then get a pry bar or similar and break off the top section of the sensor, by tapping against it the top metal section will break off and reveal the nut section, now you can get a standard socket on that is sooo much easier and will not round off.

That's what i did, was easy. I just used a spanner to tighten the new one up.
