If I was to ever chop the Z in for another car, the cheapest car i would consider presently would be a 911 turbo, specifically a 997. Nothing really floats my boat up to that price bracket that I would consider worthwhile selling up for.

Currently a good 911 (997) turbo is around 45-50k and I'd like to see 5k back for the Z so my current figure of how much it would cost for me to sell the Z is £40-45,000! Although, I would possibly keep the Z for a while just to be sure I'd made the right move.

So how much will it cost you to sell your Zed?

Are you talking about advertising, marketing the car or what you may ave to pay in difference to get the car of your choice.

To be honest even the best Zeds aren't worth selling at the moment as there isn't the buyer interest to pay big bucks for these cars, except in specific circumstances when they find themselves often moving to the continent!

He means how much would it take for you to give up your Zed i.e everything has its price

Yeah so, if you were to give up your Z for another car, what would it be and how much would it cost? In my first post mine is shown as a 911 turbo at £40-45k (I guess I'll be keeping it for a while!)

Right now, I'd sell for 5k if it was offered. Realistically though I'd want enough to be able to afford a camaro with a supercharger kit, and pay my stamp duty and solisitors fees.

my zed is worth 1500 quid if im lucky, and the car im after is 10k minimum ( merc cl600 bi turbo)

so i need at least another 8.5k

in case anyone missed it, i think this is more of a tongue in cheek... and bit of a 'how much do I love my Zed' .. :)

like Sir Charles said...

No didn't miss it! just raised a point on what would it take to sell (cost) what could you realistically achieve (value) or how much is your desirable change of car going to cost you!

I bought my Zed to have something desirable but relativley cheap....oh boy., got that wrong!

LOL.. I know that feeling exactly.... the money I've pumped into mine is silly and to make matters worse it looks like it's not cared for.. :)

I know what it's worth to me, I kinda know what it's worth on the market, people have told me it's worth quite a bit more....so I have no idea.

Getting the buggers to part with the cash when you finaly choose to part, that's when they get shy!!

Stand out cars will always attract greater interest, but even then the recovery in part or full of the investment owners have comitted over time, will very rarely result in a sale that justifys the value of the car... yes you may get a good price...but a good deal? now that's a very different thing.

I've been tempted by an S15 recently, a nice unmolested one, probably around an 02 plate. I figure I could sell my zed, and my daily driver civic and just have the one car. but I couldn't do it, the amount of love and affection that's gone into it is way to great to consider getting rid yet. however, if I right it off, then that's the plan...

It's a plan,.. but a terrible, underhanded idea! couldn't possibly condone it and shall deny ever reading it.............however should the unfortunate incident ever occur just make sure your seat belts done up and you've fitted all the crap old stock bits back on again!! lol! That way you can sell all the nice toys to us lot..

Hmm. I'd sell mine for a decent Noble ( about £25k ). Then obviously I would promptly regret it and have to buy him back, probably for twice the price I sold him for!

Only one car I'd change to. And that's a 1980 C3 Corvette. So that's probs another £8k on top is the Zeds value.

Zed #2: 1998 Midnight Purple 2+2 NA. (owned 2020 - now)

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)

Only car I'd sell the zed for is a lexus isf always loved them but then I'd have to deal with my dad flipping when he finds it gone

Heh! You would be on the naughty step FOREVER!!!

I have committed to my zed, I reckon I'll always have it. It's worth possibly 4 but owes me 8. The zed is everything I want from a car, I smile like a loon as I walk towards it, the inside is a comfortable place to be, passengers comment on it's novelties that we forget about. Then the drive eggs you on and rewards you like nothing I've driven. Above all that you can get a mountain bike in the back.

An equivalent would be something like a tvr or a as above a porche, but pound for pound what beats a zed, and performance wise how much does 400 OEM horsepower cost? More than 8 grand. And my 400 or so horsepower was added through my ownership along with other mods that made the car my own.

Let me know when youre selling then..LoL!

I would never sell it, even if i wanted another car or a TT, its a car ive wanted since it came out and although like many are experiencing at the moment, its not finished, its an on going pet project, that in reality will never be truly finished, but i love it regardless.

An Aston martin would be nice though
