So she is still at the body shop. Here's a little preview of what I've been working on lately...

No, that intake manifold is for a customer out in California, USA for his Nissan Titan.

This is the intake I am building for Japspeed, how'd you know Lexx?

Got the passenger side flange all welded up last night. Note to self... don't drink coffee while TIG welding lol caffeine makes ya hands shakey! Got the upper flange welded as well. Then machined the runner mouths.

I keep an eye on your various threads as I still intend to buy the stuff off you for a VH conversion next year.

Awesome Lexx, It's great to hear people are actually following my projects :)

Sorry for the crappy cellphone pics... Upper plenum is welded on. Just need to close up the bottom, attach the throttle body flange, injector bungs and fuel rail mounts.

Here's the VH45 intake manifold I am building for Team Japspeed over in the UK. My intake will probably end up looking very similar to this.

Thanks guys! These are custom made to order. I will not be stocking them, but I will definitely be making them upon request (with a downpayment lol) Some more progress pics:

Beads are getting nicer and nicer. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE! It's starting to pay off!

i appreciate the engineering and effort that has gone in to this project but who let that welder anywhere near the job! in england a welder like that should be welding railings for community service not high class engine projects

Ive seen welding that looked like it was done by a machine, but didn't have enough penetration and broke very easily. This looks like it was done on a basic Tig machine without pulsing and nowhere near as bad as you are making out.

Don't judge how good a weld is by the "stack of dimes" look.

i weld on a daily basis (time served) i know quite abit about it! the weld looks fused correctly in most placesand i cant see any porosity and imagine without testing it it will withstand the load but it still looks like a giant slug has being let loose under the engine bay

What was that saying??

'If you don't have anything good to say...shut up?'

Eric it looks epic and I'm looking forward to seeing some more intake manifolds.

You going to doing any exhaust manifolds??

Im also a coded tig welder in BS4872 vertical up, and I do a lot of ally work for myself and friends.

Ive seen a lot worse welding on stuff for sale.

Do you do mig or tig ?

I'm not a trained welder for sure! I picked up my Everlast 200dx tig welder last year and this is my 4th project dealing with aluminum. Never welded before, but I'm determined; I feel like I'm making good progress considering I have no previous welding experience. I used the foot pedal 100%, I have pulse options on my machine which really comes in handy.

I admit my welds are definitely not the prettiest but like ruishy1 mentioned.. I've seen a lot worse as well. They are strong and I do my best to make them look presentable. I'm very proud of my work, and I am always open to hear everyone's opinions whether it be positive and negative. Can't learn and grow without both!

Mate iff you have followed the thread then this is a home build and is a newbie on the TIG with ally...i think its a fantastic progression in something not normaly done:wink:

great attitude! this is a great project which i am following and the truth is i am not mechanically minded enough to be able 2build what you have done. i wasnt trying to be offensive. practice makes perfect!
