I thought, time to fit my Japspeed decats, Zed up on axle stands, Mongoose rear system came off ok - good....

Intermediate cats/silencers came off only after three bolts sheared, OS turbo elbow/downpipe/cat came off with minimal effort - great.

However, the NS turbo elbow/downpipe/cat is still on the car 'cos I cannot get one **!???** bolt undone :cursing::cursing:

The top bolt, nearest the engine, will not budge anymore than the 5mm that I've managed to unscrew it so far :surrender:

You can't get purchase on a spanner, once it's on the bolt. I've broken two cheap quarter inch drive short extensions and

for the life of me can't figure out what to do next...........................turbo out??

Please can someone enlighten me on what I'm doing wrong, before I put a hammer through the windscreen:smash:

Hammer and chisel is whats needed, and if that dont work a bigger hammer and chisel...............I went to college for 5 years to find that out :)

I know I had some problems doing mine but for the life of me I can't remember what it was and how I got round it. I do have a load of swivel extensions in 1/2" and 3/8" drives and some shortie spanners that may help out!

is the bolt tite hard t turn? cus it been there so long ? heat it up with a blow touch i did my system few days ago heated up each bolt help me loads

I tried 1/2" swivels on extensions, off extensions, two joined together - lol.....................I gave up in disgust eventually

I was just getting too frustrated by it all, never mind - I'll try again on Sunday - East Fortune Airshow tomorrow with my 91yr old dad - that should be nice change :)

Feel free to bring a box of tools over on Sunday Robert (if you're free), I know where I'll be :hammer::hammer::hammer:

If you have one, use a crows foot and instead of putting a ratchet on the foot put a universal joint on reverse then put an extension and ratchet on the end. A 1/4 assembly will work easier than a 3/8. You will need a bucket full of patients. Also, clean up and lubricate an old bolt and bolt it back in place. This will help take the load off the other bolt.

A pain in the ass, but this is how I done it, along with some heavy swearing and chafed knuckles.

Well, after getting a bit help with this stubborn bolt..............it snapped :(

At the moment, the plan is to bolt up my Japspeed elbows using the one bolt and two nuts that I can use ( it was only held on with two bolts and one nut anyway and was running fine).

Of course it may well go pear shaped when the turbo's discover a certain lack of back pressure but I'll deal with that when the need arises.
