Thanks to my good mate Jimmer for this evening's work on my Z. Just a little bit of offset correction for the rear. When I was over at Z1 last month, I felt that my Z could use an extra 10mm, so bought the Z1 spacers and NISMO extended bolts and brought them back to the UK with me and this evening Jim fitted them for me and did a rear brake clean up and inspection, a ConZult check and a full underbody check over.

Needless to say, the car was running perfectly, all the sensors, idle, O2, balance test and everything else was all spot-on, rear brake shoes adjusted, so it's all ready for the drive down to the south of France next month which I can't wait for!

Thanks again Jim!

'scuse the poor quality of the pic. My phone was dying, flash wasn't working, blurred...etc! There's the remnants of Jaffa's front bumper after his offing at Oulton Park.

......I am now running a +25 effective on the rears now with a 9.5" width. Slight arch lip roll only which I did prior to respray.

  • Author

Nope. Just folded the very top of the lip up. You can't notice it. The arch profile hasn't changed at all. No, I have stock camber (with fully adjusted items fitted) It's lower about 25mm on Tein springs. Some wheels will vary even with seemingly identical offsets. Cars vary also. If you look at the wheel, it looks pretty wacky on person, but there is JUST enough clearance.

Keep searching your pic for a snapshot of mine.. in for engine, full health check, fmic and brakes...

If only I lived in Bristol the car would get pampered...

when I couldnt see mine I thought yours looked nice Si..

I guess you're right, I had to roll mine all the way at the top and have to have my adjustable arms that I intended to set back to oem figures on max negative, oops! I was a little disappointed after the amount of time, research and money I put in to get a decent stance with the 'perfect offsets' but as you say, it can be a bit hit and miss. I just hope it doesn't look silly or handle/grip badly. Time will tell, looking forward to seeing more shots of yours with the rears like that, you've nailed the offsets IMO :)

Thanks dude. I'm pretty stoked with the stance now. It was the last minor tweak I needed to do to it and I'm really happy with how it sits now.

Great stance and what spacers are on the front wheels? Think I remember you having 25mm spacers with your old wheels.

Thanks Gary. Old wheels had 25mm spacers on the front. Current ones are 15mm bolt-on hubcentrics. A use a chap over on the 350z site (MWTech) as he makes 15mm bolt-on hubcentrics and they're awesome quality. You can't get them anywhere else. I have +20 effective on the front with an 8.5" wheel and a 245 tyre. Rears are hubcentric, but not bolt-on. They're Z1 spacers with NISMO extended wheel studs.

Good job Jimmer..as always!! I'm long overdue a visit up to see you bud!!

And Funki...great to see you back on here so much! Where are you based nowadays? Would love to see you and the Zed in the flesh again soon!

Hey Vig! Hope you're well and that you had a good time in Japan. I live in Portishead now. Not sure where I was at that SC RR meet. Think I was in the same place.

Your car keeps getting better mate. I have some 10mm hub centric bolt on spacers but am missing a nut so I could get the same studs as you and scrap the bolt on part of it right? These will be on the front, same deal as the back if going aftermarket right?

  • Author

10mm bolt-on hubcentrics? As far as I am aware, no one's ever made these? There wouldn't be enough material to secure a thick enough nut? Sure they're 10mm? Any photos?

Stunning car buddy, love the colour

I keep getting told I have your old wheels ??

Had a great time bud!

Portishead? Lcuky sod being so close to Jimmer! haha. You can't have driven all the way down to the Surrey RR meet from there surely!

Pretty sure I did. I do some long distances in it. I'm of with it to Toulouse next month. Yeah, Jim's unit is no more than 10 minutes from my house. HANDY!

I am thinking on going to Japan. A bunch of us from 3ZC might be going over to see Mr.K next year!
