it makes the gear change alot higher up in the rpm range ... in case your going up a hill and it keeps in out of 3rd/4th or alike u will keep it in the gear to what ever its in

sorry got a little mixed up

Hold will stop it from Changing gear under harder loads

Power will Make the Gear changes Higher up the RPM Band

No Power gains as such but nice to make it change gear later if your doing spirited runs :)

If you floor it, it will automatically go into power mode and not taking it out of overdrive is fine, i used to use it in or out when going up a hill as it didnt drop down a gear quick enough.

"hold" it pulls away in 2nd gear..."power" it pulls away in 1st gear and also changes the shift points higher up the rpm range..."middle" it does nothing except takes orders from its last fixed position either hold or power.
