Heh, cheers Dave.

That's great news. I'm certainly not here to take the p!ss - if I get one of these cars I'd be happy to cough up. And if anyone wants to sell me their unmodded UK spec manual with leather I'd be

a) gobsmacked, and

b) quite interested!

still grinning about russ-tick...

Oh b0ll0cks!

Posted a new thread instead of replying to the 'downhill' one.

Duh - and I've been working in this business for years!

:D

Blimey (III) carry on like this and you'll get to superobergruppenmember before you've decided which car to buy :D

Hi Russ

Have tried unsuccesfully to mail u back, your mail address seem to not work even though it shows as the address you mailed me from???? any how he is my reply.

Hi Russ

Thanks for you mail, Yes we will be getting into sales in the new year, we aim to provide first class car`s without any faults or drama`s for the buyer with proper 12 month & 36 month warranties.

Meanwhile we are happy to check out car`s for anyone and the £50 figure is generally about right for the Midland`s area. One point to bear in mind though is that any subsequent service work we get from you we refund 50% of that fee so can`t be bad eh?

We are always keeping an eye on dealer`s and will add you to our customer base so if we see a potential car we can let you know.

If you find a car yourself and just want advise on what to look for we can do that also.

Speak soon maybe

Jeff

Cheers Jeff,

Hm, dunno why my email didn't work - definitely been getting stuff today. Oh well.

Sounds good - if you can scour the dealers at the same time I do that would be great! I'm certainly keen to get you along to any viewings. The general idea would be to buy the car and then take it to you to get any of the niggles sorted on it. I'm hoping to have up to a grand spare to sort the car once I have it - obviously depends on the price - and anything I don't spend on mechanicals will likely go towards a nice stereo!

Just to re-cap, my wildly ambitious requirements are (in descending priority order)

ABSOLUTES:

- Manual transmission

- UK car

- Everything (mechanical) working

V. IMPORTANT:

- Either low mileage (

- NO mods (other than SS Exhaust/headlight upgrade)

SEALS THE DEAL:

- Leather seats

- Dk Red, Dk Blue, Silver, Grey or Black colour

- would prefer 1992/3 but probably can only afford 90/91.

- Nice ICE system

- evidence of regular oil changes and other TLC!

Ideally I'd like to pay around £6K, but I'll pay up to £7K, perhaps a little more for the right motor. Having said that, the more I pay for the car, the less I can afford to pay you!

Cheers,

Russ.

You don't want much, then! LOL

All I can say is, best of luck and prepare yourself for a bit of a wait :D :D :D

I spent about 6 months looking for a car like that, and didn't even see one half-decent manual in that time... In the end, I thought I'd go for an Auto, since it answered all the other criteria, and was pretty pleased until I finally found a manual by the side of the road with a "For Sale" sticker in her .. which I have to say, I love just that little bit more (no offense meant to those who love Autos):) So, I guess it took about 15 months in all to find the one I wanted, and even then it's got far more miles than I'd really have liked!

Good Luck and stick with it, you'll be well pleased when you get there.

CheerZ,

John.

Thanks mate!

Yeah, I know it's ambitious. My last motor (a 200SX) was an auto, and I've been feeling the need to stir my car along for a while now! I'm a patient man - I don't use a car for work and the cash can sit in my bank account offsetting the mortgage until I find the right motor :p

Also, the longer I wait the more money I'll have, so I may be able to stretch my budget a little more for the right car.

No doubt there'll be a flurry of questions etc. once I get a 300 (assuming I do!)

Cheers,

Russ.

Ditto.

Good luck in your search and remember not to plump for the first one you see without a check over! :)

It took me about 9 - 10 months of viewing Fairlady's and TTs to find my baby. My criteria was pretty much the same - HAD to be UK, HAD to be Turbo'd, HAD to be well looked after.

Found plenty of the first 2, but only 1 of the latter. :D And I got her! :D

Good luck and I hope you find what you want!

Anita.

You betcha .... there's always something that needs sorting out!

But you're in the right place, there's a whole raft of people on here with encyclopaedic knowledge of all things 300 .. it's been a great help to me so far. Well worth the 20 squids!

CheerZ,

John.

I spent a good 18 months hunting down my car. I had a very similar criteria as you. All UK spec cars are fully loaded (leather seats etc). If you want a manual, then wait until you find a manual ;) Saying that, I found mine, it ran great for 14 months then seized a turbo, so you can never protect yourself 100%

HTH

CheerZ,

Andy

LOL, The words FAT CHANCE, spring to mind, £7K and that spec, good luck m8, can you tell me the lottery number for next week please.

I'd look very carfully at the idea of a Jap import if I were you, IMHO you get more for your money.

Noone flame me, only expressing an opinion, can only speak from personal experience with my car.

Tim

Most UK cars came with Leather, although it was an option. The only red Uk ones are the same colour as mine, blue was only available on series II Uk cars from about 93 onwards I think. Silver wasn't available on UK cars.

I think Tims right, you'll be extremely lucky if you find a UK spec Manual with that kind of mileage and with the rest of the spec you want. There must be one out there....somewhere. Sounds similar to mine...could it be me. ;)

http://www.300zx.co.uk/rides/grant

mine pretty well fitted your description then:

UK manual in VGC, 80k with FSH (oil change every 3k), no mods apart from a nice set of 17" rims (you forgot that on your list!!), leather & suede interior (in VGC), 93 L model.

had a standard radio/cd when i bought it, but you cant have everything i suppose!

paid £7k

ps, no, im not selling!!!! :p

keep looking, it did take me a while to get mine.

droooool!

Kick a man while he's down, why dontcha?! :D

I'll be back! Time to withdraw into the shadows and ponder my next move...

Russ.

If you were buying a few years ago, there'd be no way on this earth that you'd get what you're after...I paid just over £11K for mine....now however, they are a reasonable price.

You never know - you may get lucky. :D Keep searching. :)

Anita.

Well,

Just to keep those body blows raining in!

Mine's a '94 UK manual in metallic grey, with 86k (a little more than ideal) ... and a FSH ... I'm not sure it qualifies as VGC, though, more like GC ... I also paid 7k, about 4 months ago, which I though was a great deal at the time ... now I'm not so sure.

However, just to cheer you up a bit, my first one (a '93 UK Auto in Black), I paid 10k from a dealer, exactly a year ago, and sold it a month ago for 6k ... ouch! Should have done my research on here before buying.

Good Luck ... I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for! :D

CheerZ,

John.

'94 UK manual! Wow! There's gotta be, like 5 of them in existence, or something!

Is it an L or M plate?

Curse you!! ;)

Russ.

Russtic,

It's an "M" plate - haven't seen many others, I must say!

Blokey who sold it to me, advertised it as "rare M plate" ... when I arrived and told him that I was more impressed by it being a '94 manual, he replied: "Oh, do they make automatics, then?" ... doh!

Hot Damn!

If I can just find me a geezer like that (I'm guessing this is the wrong place ;)), I'll be sorted.

No such luck as yet...

Russ.

john-boy, was yours the one in autotrader for ages?? i was thinking of getting that one but when I got mine he had it up for £9k  watched it slowly drop over the next few months!!

Paul, it could well have been ....

I happened to be on my way to view a Skylark in Sandgate, when I saw it by the side of the road (in fact, the missus spotted it:eek: ... well done, Luv), and so I pulled over, and instantly forgot about the 'Lark ... plus the extra 10k required;)

He told me it had been in AutoTrader, at 8250, and he had it up for 7500 ... so I offered him 7k and he literally bit my hand off. Must have been trying to flog it for a while. Thought for a while there may have been something dodgy about it, but it seems OK ... just been in for "B" service at Nissan, and had the pleasure of being charged 40quid for "straightening the springclip" on the back of the headlight bulb ... 1 hours labour FFS! "Well Sir, we had to take out the alarm" ... "I know" I replied, I did it myself the other weekend in 10 mins ... and believe me, I'm no mechanic LOL.

Oh sh-ite, if only Mike Feeney's mechanic hadn't have been so booked up, I could have had it done there, plus had fully synthetic oil, rather than semi ... next time, I'll book well in advance:D

CheerZ,

John.
