Hi,

Has anyone here drive a Z with a auto gear box that has also got a manual switch on it so that the driver can change gears at his/her discreation?

I am interested in getting one fitted on my car when I upgrade the auto box to be able to handle some performance upgrades? Does anyone know where I can get this done from and what I should watch out for?

Cheers

Pali

Not quite sure what you are after here Pali, do you mean a tiptronic box like on FTO's and Porches??? If so I haven't seen or heard of anything like that for the 300. Maybe someone else has!

yup, that was the sort of thing I was thinking of.

On FTO's they are called tiptronics, on MG's they are called switchtronic etc....

I heard they do exist for the standard auto-tranny, but they cost many pesos.

I think HKS makes them..

And I know for certain there are *tiptronics* available for the Level10-tranny (upgraded tranny).

I believe that a couple of years ago SE had plans for this - not sure how much truth there was in it but worth giving them a call. Given the nature of the gearbox and it's ECU control, a specific system for the Z would probably be considerably cheaper than a generic unit which was designed to suit many cars.

Alternatively, get in touch with a really good auto box diagnostic centre and see if you can commission the work ...
