May I emphasize the words NEW Abflug Spoiler !

 

As you can see from the above pictures its has since sustained heavy damage since being having the classification of new.

 

This was purchased recently from a unnamed member on these forums for the whole sum of £300 sheets.

 

Being a trusting fellow that I am; I never fully examined or queried the for sale thread pics so I bought this and may I say

pleaded with another member who had first dibs to get my hands on it.

 

I negotiated and lucky for that other member they decided to let me have it.

 

Now can you see the problem ?

 

When I arrived home to see this new specimen I was shocked and disappointed to what I found.

 

The spoiler which may I say was brand new was cracked and split down the full horizontal axis.

 

It was also apparent that some sort of glue had been used to join the spoiler at some point as the white primer that you would

expect to be completely covering the spoiler only covered each half and was very jagged around the joins and towards the ends

you could very clearly see that there was never any primer applied over the glue marks.

 

To me and to many other people whom I showed this to all agreed that this spoiler was or had been damaged and repaired.

 

I'm not saying the spoiler wasn't new as it arrived with new bolts and there was no sign of paint being applied but rather that

somehow it has been previously damaged from a new condition then repaired again so I wouldn't class it as new.

 

After contacting said member it was agreed for a return but they expressed on me making sure that the spoiler was ensured for

the full value which I would have obviously done anyways but I thought how strange to mention that but I packed up and sent it.

 

Three days later I get confirmation from the courier that said member refused to take delivery on the basis of its damaged !

 

I then contacted the member whom now refused to deal with me and refused to give me a refund.

 

all in I've paid £300 plus about £14 paypal fees then another £30 sending it back.

 

I'm keeping names out of this although most of you will know who this came from.

 

I just wanted people to see and understand my side as i'm fed up seeing and being slated and even at one point being told

that I was the one who done the damage which is absolutely crazy.

 

I've managed to suppress and keep this issue to myself but I now feel people should know the truth.

 

Lastly below is a picture taken from the sale thread which I now wish I paid more attention too.

 

You can now clearly see the bad joins in the primer and the rough edges which look already split or repaired.

you can see quite clearly why you are upset about it,and rightly so, such a shame the quality of pictures were not as good as yours in the first ad.

It can be saved though

It looks like its been dropped tbh, dropped then that drop has split the seam.

aah that's better, higher quality pictures of the forsale thread one, if you zoom in you can actually see what looks like dried araldite along that leading edge, abflug? yeah not sure i follow that as new from abflug in that condition, doubt they would even release that from the warehouse with that nasty line on the rear leading edge.

Well we know who not to buy "new" items from in the future then.

Still a very nice spoiler though, and as said already... It can be fixed!

Well I've decided I no longer wish to fit it to my zed as I don't want to be remembered by it all the time.

 

So open to serious offers but it does require a bit of work.

 

Maybe I could send it to our very own carmad for repair then sell on from there to save all the postage.

I'm not after a head hunt as I would have named from the start.

 

I only want people to understand this from my point of view and make up there own minds rather me being slated on other places.

 

This is an open forum and everyone can have there own opinions which I will not moderate unless they are aggressive towards myself or the committee.

 

From the evidence shown if this arrived at your step would you wish a refund or just accept the damages?

 

The delivery was accepted and signed for yes; but the damage was not apparent until opened.

 

Which courier that you know would allow a parcel to be fully opened by an unknown party with a signature to take ownership ?

I do tend to agree with Alan here, the matter has been dealt with by the committee the verdict delivered and the "offender" banned. I think were all aware of the situation and I think the matter should be discontinued as things like this usually are. I feel sorry for both parties.

I have had items delivered to me from said parcel company that have been damaged in transit and signed for, the seller still managed to claim on insurance, reason being is, you stand there and ask a delivery driver to wait while you inspect them and they say they haven't got time, they are multi drop drivers with a strict time limit of where they have to be.

id just like to say that its abit unfair to post this now that the banned member can no longer defend themselves.

the now banned member i have personally bought lots of items from and i would be extremely shocked if this was the way it was posted out to you as they would never even place a for sale add of a item in that condition.

And as i am aware the parcel was signed for without being opened and checked which is what is required before accepting the item. if this had of been done then noone would be left out of pocket as a claim against the courier company could of been made.

personnally i think this type of thread should be deleted as i feel it comes across as abit inappropriate.

yep i have made claims before as you can not all ways tell that the item in the box is damaged or not ...

 

i assume that the spoiler was sent in a box right ? as if it was me sending something alike jiffy/bubble rap does not stop damage to items as such thing ...

Quality parts or Quality customers ?

 

Personally I think your parts are of the highest quality and I initially compared this spoiler to the 99 spec and skirts I've previously got from you.

 

So I rank you very high on the manufacturing and the after sales process.:thumbup1:
