Hi im hoping to start my car tomorrow for the first time since the rebuild. Im excited but also a bit nervous as its make or brake time.

My questions are.

1. What degree does the throttle position sensor need to be set at?

2. The same for the C.A.S unit?

3. What is stock oil pressure?

If I get the car running what shall I do? I've had many different suggestions.

I want to check for leaks etc before I have the car run in on the rollers.

1. Let the car idle up to engine temp then turn it off?

2. Dont let the car idle keep revving it on and off up to 3000 revs?

3. Rev it hard though the rev range?

Thanks Dan

My input is to remember to crank the engine over with the fuel pump fuse removed to prime the oil galleries before starting and check there is oil coming from the turbo to sump oil drain. Fingers crossed for you mate!

Hi im hoping to start my car tomorrow for the first time since the rebuild. Im excited but also a bit nervous as its make or brake time.

My questions are.

1. What degree does the throttle position sensor need to be set at? >>>> 0.45v

2. The same for the C.A.S unit? >> Set timing to 15deg once engine is hot should be all most middle

3. What is stock oil pressure? >>> Full hot oil pressure at 700/800rpm 10>15psi

If I get the car running what shall I do? I've had many different suggestions.

I want to check for leaks etc before I have the car run in on the rollers. >>> all ways check for Leaks for a good 50 miles or so

1. Let the car idle up to engine temp then turn it off? >>> drive the car up to temp ... around the block or 2 and then recheck all timing

2. Dont let the car idle keep revving it on and off up to 3000 revs? >>> try not to Free Rev it high

3. Rev it hard though the rev range? >>> Never do that out of gear .. but if your driving blips of throttle is fine not for long and not to high rpm

Thanks Dan

Cheers Mark I didn't see the answers. I wont be able to drive the car unfortunately. So I guess I just let the car idle up to temp keeping the revs low?

I am so waiting for this moment, your build has been an epic journey, and finally you are ready for the start. I hope all goes well matey, ur 300 will be a beaut!!! Looking forward to seeing ur 300 in the flesh!!

Thanks everyone got some great news. The car pretty much started on the button. Very tappy at first and tight but once she started to loosen up a bit she ran well. Ive got a blow coming from the drivers down pipe gasket but hopefully it will nip up or ill order an replacement asap. have some videos too. :)

Outstanding, get those vids up! How long did it take for the tappets to prime? What have you got left to do before MOT besides the gasket?
