I've just got my paint, a very nice pearl yellow (bumble bee) and am now thinking about how the car should be sprayed, namely the roof as some have suggested spraying the top strip black and also do you think I should strip the trims of there rubber coating and spray them gloss black. And pics of how yours are done would be most helpful

I don't have a yellow one but in my opinion black roof bars look pretty cool with any colour, however, I would personally replace the weather strips for new. The rubber over the strips doesn't just cover the metal, it forms a mould and seals down onto the glass, if you strip the rubber it will leave a gap and not fit nicely.

So the plastic coating is atually needed, in which case I will keep a rubber coating on them

Black roof bars and tinted targas with a tintyed back hatch look well cool!

And keep the car cooler as well (save you having to fit those inner blinds on the targas)

I also replaced all the 20 yr old external rubber trim, scuttles etc with new

I have done all this on my car )the trim was not cheap) and am very pelased with the results
