wobble nuts

Just got a new set of wheels from ebay and they were the wrong pcd ie 112 pcd

They supplied me with a set of wobble nuts to convert the pcd which im fine with but the locker nut isn't so will it be ok to use the locknut or do you think its a bodge

you can get wobble wheel lock nuts to m8 ..

just use all the Nuts that was supplied and then find your self some locks to fit

if i was you mate i would have the wheel holes opened out my 1mm, wobble bolts are an engineering bodge and IMHO they are asking for trouble on high powered cars

Any ideas where I might get some can only seem to find locking wobble bolts m8

we have have the discussion about wobble bolts many times before and although they are not the best option they are perfectly safe to use otherwiise they would be illegal to buy or sell.

the vw/audi etc drivers have been using them for years and as of yet i have never heard of a situation where they have caused damage or been the reason of accidents etc.

here is a link to some mate.

Whilst I understand the concerns related to the use of wobble nuts they seem to have proved themselves over the years and I don't think the op wanted to discuss whether they're safe to use or not. Although, when it comes to the advice given, I can't see opening out the holes on the wheels being any safer, in fact I'd say you'd be making it worse. You're transferring the problem from wobbly nuts to wobbly wheels with elongated holes. You'd still have to use wobble nuts anyway to seat the cup properly, otherwise you also have to oval the nut recess, essentially giving you a floating wheel. Unless I'm misunderstanding something?

My issue wasnt the wobble nuts but the standard locking nuts supplied with the wheels that had no variance and would bend the stud a littlewhen the nut was centered in the hole I just wanted to know if it was accepible thanks

i would personally say not to use the locking nuts provided if they are not centered.

you can buy locking wobble nuts, so in my opinion they would be your best bet mate.

As AndrewG has said....I have done the exact same thing...fitted 112 alloys, wobble nuts and hubcentric rings. no issues at all...get a wobble lock nut.
