so the title sums it up. bought another pair of t tops and it still drips. the guy said they didn't leak so im thinking its go to be where it sits on the top? its not as drippy as before but still dripping none the less!! has anyone done a diy fix? not really sure if its dripping from where the window and rubber meet or from the top... will have a thorough inspection on Monday but any input and tips will be helpful

I think you need to replace your window runners mate. They get worn over time and the glass isn't then held tightly against the rubber.

Alternatively, it might be a bit of rubber needing stuck back down (next to where the targa drains are)

I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

mix in some bright food colouring to water, then pour over the area, will give you a visible trace to follow where its leaking, and if its not bad. Captain Tooleys :)

as above, its really common for the little flaped part of the seal to rise up and the bonding fail it then leaks underneath, jeffg has covered it as a tech write up somewhere.

Ive fixed my leak where the targa meets A piller, but its now leaking from what can only be the targa its self, not sure how water gets in to the targa, but its leaking where the plastic end cap is located on the targa side, will get a picture later, hate targa leaks, they are annoying as hell. ive taken my targa apart but still cant see where its coming from, if its had a heavy down poor, and the targa panel is still wet, i have to take it off and drip the water out or i end up with either a soggy arm or a wet leg lol

Ive searched countless times, they all say the same fixes, which ive tried, the only thing i haven't tried is a different set of targa panels but its the only leak i have left on mine.

Halfords do a black silicone sealant which is what i used to sort out the leak on my Apiller trim at the top near the targa drain hole, BUT do it on a warm / hot day with no rain or it doesnt set correctly and seal.

It`ll be getting in from either the trim strip fixing holes that you can`t get to without stripping or more likely the end caps themselves. The foam they use to seal the caps under the locking panel is fubared (probably starting to rust underneath too). Silicone is not a good idea..tried and failed. sikalastomer 710 buytl based sealant is proving to be the daddy. Get rid of the foam and reseal everywhere you see silicone or foam. Only place to still use foam is the thin strip on top of the lock panel the glass mounts to and the inner edge of the targa panel that again fits to the glass. Messy job though.

Not saying it will fix it but I tried everything I even stripped the Targa it's self but it still leeked, but I finally solved it by getting a rod and running it down a a pillar rubber some amount of gunk came out and perfect since.

ill give it all a try. something has to work. for now ive just folded a peice of saran wrap and put it between the end cap and frame where the spike comes out. seems to have done the trick lol it was worth a shot. ive stripped my tagras and found it has rust at the end caps.from the inside. where does the front and back pipes lead to for the excess water? i bet its just a simple clearing the pipe fix! thanks guys

Santa, I'll be booking you in soon, popping round for some action!
