multimeters are a waste of time,i dont know of any auto sparky that regularly uses one if im honest,unless you know the value of the item your testing then whats the point.Ok an injector may have 14 ohms through its coil,but its no proof its working is it ? and you should never use a meter to rely on when testing voltages.a testlight is far more reliable.

Bit of a random statement James? What you're saying may well be true but they have several other uses which come in very handy for troubleshooting and fault finding, for example continuity testing or just to find a correct live feed/earth. For only a few quid I think it's a very valuable tool :-)

A good DMM will test for voltage, current and resistance, three functions you need when trying to diagnose a problem.
