Attack at Croft

11 May 2013

General Time Attack information

The Time Attack Series is dedicated to representing the aftermarket scene and to providing a relevant motorsport to those within the scene. As a result we have formulated various classes within Time Attack that allow us to accommodate almost every level of driver and car type/marque and class them into a category that is fitting for that level, making any achievement relevant, substantial, meaningful and more importantly- sporting.

Time Attack is open to ALL marques and contrary to popular belief Time Attack is not just for the high-end tuner cars with large budgets. Since Time Attack was introduced to this country in 2005 we have worked hard to formulate classes that appeal to the guy on the street through to the high end tuners (from within the ultra competitive aftermarket tuning scene) that come to battle for Time Attack honours.

I'm using an na diff but it doesn't suit all the tracks and might be better off with the tt diff tbh.

No youre not using an NA Diff!!!

You are using a TT diff with a 4.1:1 CWP and a Quaife LSD fitted in place of the Nissan Viscous one.:winkiss:

Lol yes that's true but I know the debate is about ratios :-)

I can't believe Round 3 clashes with Round 2 of BDC :censored:

I'll be at Snetterton, looking forward to it.

Interesting on the ratios, I have a stock ft diff for now, found 2 corners were in the the wrong rev range between 2nd and 3rd so it was a compromise whichever you chose.

In terms of power, I've spent most of the week rewiring and datalogging. Conclusion - I was running on 4cylinders in the final!

Have you got it sorted now?

Have you got it sorted now?

Yes, needed new permanent live to all coils, and a new earth to the driver side ones. Just a silicon coupler to replace and she'll be back to full health

There were gremlins in the electrics that started messing around in the last few weeks, been a real PITA to sort out

Yes it's always a compromise. On both straights at Croft I was coasting in fourth as by the time I changed up to fifth I'd be changing back down. This is the advantage a sequential gearbox has with such fast changes it's worth doing even for a moment! Anyway more power on the day might have meant being able to change up earlier to make it worthwhile. The only way to truly determine which works best is to try all the variations during testing. Problem is it all costs so much anyway and if testing was factored in we could be talking about doubling the costs!
