Hey guys,

 

I am planning to change my tt back end to a na one. Was wondering if its worth keeping the tt parts?

How much would tt subframe with diff and all the other parts sell for? Everything on the tt is really good except the hicas part has a slight play.

 

Or is it better just to scrap it?

 

Also any key tasks that might be worth doing with the swap? Bushes etc? Also wats better bushes or locking collars??

Well i got the frame, diff and prop (two piece) but my gearbox etc is a tt manual, is that going to be an issue? tt i got it off was running around 450 ish bhp, didn't seem to have any issues! (he was running a na gearbox though)

Javelin if the NA rear end came from a Manual .. u will be fine

Again yes to do a proper job as linking pipes together is something i wouldnt do as i like a tidy job with the pipes deleted

U don't have to put on na pas pot or pump ....

 

take out the unit in engine bay .. the 2 pipes that run to back u can completely removed ..

The last pipe your left with goes to the pas pot

 

No joined up pipes and looks neat and tidy

I did this to remove the HICAS. Works fine and looks ok too. I'm wanting to cange over to a NA rearend and use a Z1 one pice prop shaft (NA, Manual, LWB) in the next month or so but dont know where to start looking for the subframe and diff. I'm going for the solid bushes...

just keep an eye out on here .. they are quit rare and u will find there around 250>300quid for the complete setup ..

Blimey. The NA rear conversion has got more popular lately then.

 

I think I got my own conversion for £50 5 years ago. Sold a couple for £100 a set when it started to become more known about, but must of scrapped well over a dozen NA rear ends.

 

Yes a custom made prop with a TT front end on and a NA rear end on now i do

 

TT and NA gearbox ends are the same. So you just have a one piece NA propshaft.

I'm sort of on the scav for a tt subframe no arms required etc just the frame and diff carrier....so if you find yourself having nothing to do but scrap it let me know :)

anyways....

 

back to the point all of the work has been done, a mate of mine came along and offered some stainless decats too for a bargain so managed to get exhaust done as well. Also got some locking collars and put them on. Painted and then hammerite was put on sub too :)

 

Question though, it does feels a lot more responsive and quicker. However i am finding it a lot more noisier and the odd vibrations too. Does everyone have that with the conversion?

it shouldn't be any noisier but that could be down to the collars i didn't notice any when i did my sub-fame .. but if you have a small vibration i would say thats down to the Prop slightly out of balance

just get a one piece, it probably is the prop out of balance but that will feel like a shaking on acceleration. I guess you will get a touch more road noise through those collars.

could the exhaust not being sealed properly cause an issue?
