Anybody got some tips for cleaning up a plenum? Had a go with autosol and scouring pad last week, but wasnt very succesful.....

Featured Replies

I had mine blasted, washed out and chemically cleaned, came up really well.

I've used this product before with success:

I masked off the electrical connectors etc around the plenum and followed the instructions. For rinsing off, I

used a water hose set to *very* slow flow (no more than a dribble). Then run the engine to dry off. Didn't have

any problems. Plenum came up very clean and bright.

I keep threatening take mine off and get it machine polished. Don't know how it would last though with the heat... Worth getting a quote local to you though you will find its not that dear

Don't know if I could be doin with the mither of taking it all off Dan, and having car off the road etc. I'm not after a 'show car' finish, just think its a little bit grubby and could do with freshening up, if u know what I mean......

In that case, TFR, or there's a company called autobrite and they do a cleaner called Jaffa, I used it. Got the car up to temp left it running sprayed a good half a litre all over the engine, let it soak for ten minutes or so then pressure washed it all. Worked brilliant. Or like I said TFR would also do the same job it's just I know the Jaffa leaves a nice mart Finnish to all the black hoses
