Hi,

Can anyone tell me if the headlight wiring is part of the main engine loom (with the fuse box etc), or is it this one -

There is also a harness that goes over the inner wing, but it doesn't seem to be that one as far as I can tell.

I will at some point will need to replace the harness that goes from the pod to the headlights, either that or mess around with wiring.

I was looking at the wiring on my shell, but couldn't work out where it was going, not without removing it.

If anyone knows I'd be most grateful! :)

the harness from the pods is separate from that in the wings, but if your thinking of taking it out its a big ask job.

for starters it's dash out, seats out, all aircon parts out including heater matrix out.

I've done it once before and my guides in the faq section for swapping out manual style aircon to digital type.

just follow that guide to get the loom out, the loom in the wings are completely separate.

I looks like a nightmare job, though I'm planning to strip my shell (though hadn't planned to pull the dashboard out), but then I need to replace all harnesses (as the breakers cut them in the engine bay!!), so looks like I'll be taking out everything.

This is going to take even longer than I thought!

I guess the good news is that it's not the main loom! :)

I think page 124 and onwards might be of some help mate.

Hope I got the link right. lol

Cheers for this! First time I've seen it, I think.

You've probably noticed that I've taken the easy way out and bought a shell...there just was no end to the rot, when the shell came up locally it was just too tempting. Its just totally solid, and two years younger!

My hat remains off to your metal fabrication! :)

I don't blame you mate. I think if I had realised what I was letting myself in for I may have done the same.

Good luck with the harness replacement. Looks a mammoth job!

Cheers! Its way bigger than I thought it would be, but JaiKai'a guide will help immensely! I was going to strip out the interior anyway, but I never expected to be taking out the dashboard...all experience I guess....

As or the harness, I think this may well be what I'm looking for -

So, I pulled the dashboard out at the weekend, I'm up to pulling the aircon out. (See second link in my sig below for pics)

However, following the wire harness down to the headlights; it appears that I won't need to replace this harness, as the breakers have only cut through the harness that connects directly to the engine (to get the engine out the lazy way I guess).

Although I think I already know the answer, does the interior harness, for clocks, pods, seat, headlights etc, connect to the main engine harness at all?

If it doesn't then I only need replace the main engine hardness! :)
