I found the falkens didnt last very long, so opted for Nexen and im really happy with them, also a little cheaper than falken.

Last time I needed them I found them in a German tyre shop. Try doing an ebay search with 'Available to the UK' selected in advanced search

It's a bummer because Toyo, Falken and Avon with the ZZ3 have either discontinued that size or superceded that tread pattern....

Now you just pays yer money and takes yer choice !

Yeah 453 now and do just as badly as 452 in reviews! For £20 (camskill) a tyre more you could get Eagle F1's... I bet they'd last longer to warrant that £40 and have infinitely better performance, the best vfm tyre on the market at the mo. if you don't want to push the budget up to that, the Hancock ventus are about £12 more each, I'm not sure of the wear characteristics but I bet they perform better than the falkens. All imo :-)

The falls have only lasted about 4k. The inside edge seems to be wearing loads. Even after doing the tracking it doesn't seem to help.

The 453's are completely different and aren't even directional

So what do you lot normally look for in your tyres? Any specific tread patterns, whether directions or not etc

falkens have had a good rep for years, if your scubbing the inner ende out on your fronts this is a common z32 problem, its not because the tracking is out, as you say even wen it set it still does it. the problem is usually the front tension arm, the bush wears at stand still the car is tracked right, but when your cornering the load shifts it out to the wrong angle causing excessive inner wear on the tyre.

So should I just get a front tension arm bush?

if they haven't been done its worth while doing it just to isolate that out the picture if nothing else.

It's a difficult topic to advise as its very subjective. Personally I tend to read reviews and take from them what I want... for example, for my daily I want a reasonable all rounder (wet and dry performance) that will last decent mileage and importantly, be quiet. Whereas with the Z, noise is not a massive issue, but dry grip performance is and as I don't use it too often, I'm not worried about wear rates. Obviously price plays a big part in it.

So you hand pick the attributes that you want and ignore the rest. In doing that you may find that the 'winner' of the reviews may not be the best suitable for you and may not be the most expensive etc. The website below seems to have enough info, tests and feedback to get a fairly rounded idea of what to go for. It really just depends on how you drive and how you want it to respond. I'm sure millions of people fit ling longs and are perfectly happy with them. As I say this is just my opinion, I am no expert but I have tried several different tyres on my zeds and know what I want from them.

Hope this helps :-)

Thanks guys.

So I ended up just making a decision based on value for money from the top so many (quality score given by the sites for performance).

Anyway, I decided to get some hankook k110's
