fuel pump stays on

good news and some bad.

Bad.

My zed is at the garage having all new sills and arches replaced by a mate. they have been doing the passenger side completely between other jobs, but for the last month the car has been jacked up on the drivers side wheels only, not been started and no battery connected.

Nearly finished the drivers side now, but its now jacked on the passengers side, when they had all four wheels on the floor, connected battery and started instantly, no issues, even took it round the block and made sure all was good.

But for some reason, when its turned off, with key removed, the fuel pump is still working,

remove battery, all stops.

remove fuel relay all stops but connect battery and its is pumping.

My question is.

IS it possible that when the side was on its side for a time that the fuel pump has got stuck, ie is it a float style pump?

is it a sign the pump is on its way out?

is the relay on its way

or could it be that the fuel pump ecu (under back seat passenger side) is sticking?

i read a thread that Dazvert did, and someone had a similar problem and tapped the ecu and it all worked again.

Anyone can enlighten?

Good side,

I have a spare working fuel pump, spare relay and spare ecu,

and my zed will be coming home on monday, will all new metal, nice to be able to say i have a UK TT with NO RUST......

Advice would be greatly helpfull.
