Its says bike number plates are allowed on certain imports that meet the criteria.

Trying to confirm this statement

"If you qualify as an Imported vehicle and can satisfy the above criteria then you can legally display a plate with bike size font (64mm) rather than the standard UK car size font (79mm)."

(1) does not have European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval and

(2) is so constructed that the area available for the fixing of the registration plate precludes the display on the plate of a registration mark in conformity with the requirements of regulation 14 (see the 2001 document).

I'm not sure about point (1) but, ref point (2), as there are no restrictions on the front bumper for a UK plate we can't use that old chestnut.

Ive had a bike plate on my red z and now vert i have been pulled over in the past and the copper looked and let it go so. God knows whats legal !!!

By all means you could try, I guess, like johnyboy has experienced, it all depends on the opinion of the rozzer on the day or the judge if it goes further and you kick up a stink! I think a bike size plate is asking for trouble as they're tiny. Have you considered using a 3/4 size plate like I use for show use? No issues in 6 years although its not a daily drive.
